They often use both, but if they see enough positive / negative on Experian to make their mind up they mightn't bother with Equifax... evidently!

Yup, the only credit card companies that use Equifax exclusively are Sygma and Barclaycard.

HFC used to as well but they've gone the way of the dinosaur.

Just went through Tesco CC application and have been approved for a CL of £4,000!! My computer froze when i was about to sign the CCA online! So have called helpline and Tesco said they will send the CCA form by post today instead.

So is there anything i should be aware of (i.e second credit checks) before they send out the new card? There is no ID or proof of earnings requirements so i guess i have officially got the card and it is just a matter of paperwork to finalise.

Good luck mate but bear in mind RBS have AVU and i've had loads of on screen acceptances but each time get a letter a few days later with a decline on it.... see here, we were discussing it earlier: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?p=29249285#post29249285

Just read down from that post to see our chat on it...

But good luck, hope you get it matey :T :T

I have spoken to the people in Tesco CC applications team this evening. They told me that my successful application is guaranteed (ie no further credit checks) and all they need is my signature on terms and conditions which is now in the post.

That is not true isn't it?

So all applications go through AVU before making final decision whether to issue cards? Mine was not referred, just straight acceptance.
