Have had a refund on 3 occasions - twice I asked for it because of various disturbances and once I was offered it. Always done with good grace and no fuss at all. Some days you're the dog..... most days you're the tree!0

For me they have honored it on a couple of occssion, one where i did not even ask for it! On the occsion when I asked I was asked why, and it was agreed with easily, but it was painless and easy.0

This weekend gone i stayed in the Premier Inn in Livingston (scotland), and wish i had known about the good night guarentee.
I was there on business which i converted to a mini city break to edinburgh.
Even though there where some good points about the hotel..
Car parking, the lift (it was funny it had a scottish accent). (although there was only one at the far end of the corridor).
The bed was comfy, room was clean, etc.
There where some bad points which ruined my sleep almost totally.
For example, because there is no air con in the room, i had to leave the window open, and as with always on a weekend you had groups of guests returning after a good night. Also the noise from the local roads.
Also little things like bathroom sinks gurgling when you use them (wakes up the partner) and not having very good pressure from a shower.
I also noted that it wasnt as higher quality as other premmier inns i have stayed in which loved, like Stevenage. Maybe because they are newer, better designed and organised?
Unfortunately because i was FARRR too tired from the journey and days activities i couldnt be bothered to get up and complain about having to keep the window open, and the noise from that. I dont imagine they could have had a plumber come sort out the sink, and a air conditioning installation at 4 am lol.0 -
I stayed at the Premier Inn Manchester Didsbury couple of weeks ago and just got a full refund for two nights disrupted both nights. The room (1a which seemed to be shoe horned in) is right next to the stair well and all we could hear all night was people going up and down the stairs and slamming doors.
I would recommend anyone wanting to complain do it asap as you get the problem - you're more likely to get moved or your money back.
The person on reception was a bit non plussed when I asked but I pressed hard and she agreed to the refund. I was a bit short with her but then again I hadnt slept all night! She said she would have moved us if we'd complained earlier even if that meant moving someone else (they were full by the way). I doubted this but she assured me she would have moved us.
Anyway, bottom line is that it's definitely worth asking for a refund if you have a genuine reason.0 -
I had an awful nights sleep at Rugeley (well I was awake from about 2.30am!) due to a loud heater / air con thing in the room which sounded like a plane was going past. I couldn't leave the room as I had two small children with me who were asleep and I was in my pj's, no way was I wandering around on my own at that time of night either. It was obvious in the morning they knew about the noisy heater things and I was obviously very very tired but they just said I should have come down to reception.0

my brother got his money back as he got up to report a fight happening outside his room and the police came along to break it up - my other brother was staying along the same corridor and he heard the disturbance as well and he also complained and got his money back..
Me and my kids were in the room inbetween my 2 brothers and we slept through the whole thing !

I stay in Premier Inns regularly. Probably over 50 times now
On two occasions I have received my money back. And each time I wasn't actually complaining:rotfl:
First time I mentioned a dreadful 'buzzing' noise being transmitted through the bed making it difficult to sleep. Turned out to be a faulty coke machine in the corridor
Second time was when I was asked if I had a good nights sleep and I mentioned that the duvet cover had a large whole in it. No worry, I had just flipped the cover over and went to sleep
Both times I had a refund within days0 -
I forgot to update.
I called them the day after, and they called back. They asked why i didnt report it i just explained i didnt know of the money back.
They apologised and gave me a full refund.
It would be easy to take advantage of this policy, but please dont as they may be forced to withdraw it and then people who are genuinely affected will not be able to use this option.0 -
I told them I had a disturbed night's sleep as I checked out and got no reaction or response so on my return home I wrote a letter and got a full refund and apology.0

I have a business account through work so a refund doesn't really benefit me personally but to be fair the times I have had issues they have refunded. Once I had a school trip of Scottish teens running races and banging on each door along the corridor of the Heathrow hotel at 2am I called security and they moved them on half an hour later they were back so I called security again.
Another time in Leicester (I think) I had a hen party in the three rooms across and either side on a Monday night (??)They were squealing all night and banging doors and playing music and when asked to pipe down they told the security guy to F*** off as they were entitled to have a good time and F*** everyone else (The Bride to be's exact words we all heard them) Next morning I had a very early start and in my sleep deprived state I struggled to control my wheelie case and it insisted in slamming into her door very hard a few times, not to mention struggling to switch off the piercing alarm on my mobile that went off again and again outside their rooms. Bridezilla had a few more F's to offer but I was past caring .. I got the room refund no problem but would have preferred they had dealt with the problem and I had had some sleep.0
