Yeah i see what your saying and i agree, although i dont smoke or drink, Im losing weight for my health... and need support whilst doing this and the driving i feel is important because as i said in previous posts im isolated where i am and in a totally new place so dont know anyone i can just pop and see so feel that now the time is right to drive although having said that i think i could drop the Gym for a couple of months and then that money could go towards paying the debts off .. that would free up 37.00 a month !

that would be a start ... wouldnt it ???

Well firstly, :hello: and welcome to the site! Well done for posting your SOA ...

    Gas £46.50
    Electric £21.00
    Water £15.00

Look into switching this. There are alot of comparison sites to help you do this :)

    Waste £36.00

Never heard of this before, any more information you can give?

    Food £360.00

You have explained there are 5 of you, but this is v.high! Make a shopping list before you go and stick to it. Maybe shop online and use promotional codes etc for less temptation.

    Car Ins £34.00

Check https://www.confused.com for a quote - maybe work out cheaper even after switching and the costs involved with that.

    Petrol £40.00

Well - petrol costs too much all the time. lol. Just do the best you can!

    Phone £20.00

Check out sites such as https://www.18185.co.uk and https://www.1899.com. Cheaper calls, and no need to switch (although you may find it beneficial to.)

    Mobile £50.00

Ring up the contract provider and ask to downgrade the contract.

    SW £17.00

    Driving lessons £144.00

If you were to use a snowball calculator on this amount per month based on the APR of your Adams debt you'd see how much your wasting on this. Im a big believer that everyone should be able to drive, and you should definetly learn. Just maybe cut down for the time being. 1 hour lessons per week, your learning to drive for the time being - you dont need to where your test is to learn to drive.

    Gym £37.60

It can be hard to cancel these memberships, but you can try. If not, just make sure you use it enough to justify the cost.

    Debts ....

Need to post your APR's for the debt. Has any contact been made in regards to your housing arrears. Higher APR's should be a priority, but a roof over your head has to be top priority IMO ...

    Good luck with everything :)

It definately would be a start. Have you rung your gym and asked them if you could take a 'payment holiday' - tell them you are having a cashflow problem at the moment and see what they say. Is the gym membership working out as value for money? How many times do you go a week? Also have you considered running - as it is FREE! Sit ups in the front room! Could you borrow an excercise dvd from a friend?

    Just all suggestions really...

Do you know the aprs of your debts? And what payments are you making at the moment?

    Hi Piratess,
Regarding your driving lessons, could you get a bus/ lift to and from Bournemouth and start your lesson from there? It would almost halve your lesson cost (depending on cost of getting to and from Bournemouth of course).
And then i am a huge supporter of the spending diary, I had a huge amount of money going "missing" each month and it helps you form an accurate budget.
Good luck and let us know how you get on!

Wow that's a great suggestion Natty. I used to get free kickboxing classes when I did the register at my martial arts club...

    Definately worth a go!

Have you called the catalogue compnies to see what they say?

You could check out your credit rating on experian for example?
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
