hi stefan, i am in bristol and i just called my mum and this is very true but she only pays one company and its roughly £450 a year
dunno if this is any help? 0 -
postingalwaysposting, it may be that the arrangements may have changed since I lived there, but it certainly was not an unusual arrangement to get a bill from BW and then one from WW for sewage.
Since then I've only always had one bill from my water companies... SevernTrent and ThreeValleys respectively, which both have as an item the standing charge for sewage removal.

i think im going to have to sit down over the weekend with my partner and plan to have everything taken out as a DD and then at least we will know what we have left at the end of every month His concern is that because we have money coming in as dribs and drabs that we wont have enough to cover the payments! ....
Also the Gym i payed £3.50 to join for 6 months and then pay £4.70 every time i use but after 6 months my useage is free ... so not sure to stick with it or cancel for a while anyway ??Hoping to be a thinner me in 2010!0 -
Baggiebird1nil wrote:Hi I'm new on the site and just having a nose around. My husband and I pay all our household bills (mortgage, council tax, gas, electricity, TV licence, water rates etc) through a firm called Secure Homes. These people call at our house each week and take a pre-determined amount. When a bill comes in we just hand it over to them and they pay it. The beauty of this for us is that we also pay a small amount in insurance as if my husband is unable to work through illness Secure Homes carry on paying all the bills. The other thing about this method of payment for us, is that once we have paid Secure Homes we know that what we have left is spends. It may not suit everyone but may be worth looking into. Their phone number is 0121 693 9102.
Hope this is useful.
they seem to be overcharging this company do. I would AVOID with a capital A. For a start, you never know if you have overpaid comsidering your usuage, you never get a refund. there have been discussioins on this co before. PLus they CHARGE you part of your monthly installment for them to pay your bills for you, so you will be losing money for them doing something you are more than capable of doing yourself. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Hi there do you have the reference numbers or can you get them from previous payments? I would write them a letter send it registered post stating that you have phoned and they are unable to trace you. Taht way if anything else does happen - which i doubt the amount is very small for them to proceed with a court summons - at least you will be covered. Try calling again you may get someone different who is a little more helpful0

I rang the National Debt line yesterday afternoon and am going to write to the debters company and also to the catalogue asking for a letter stating the state of my account ... and then go from there and if they dont reply i need to send another letter by registered post and then keep copies also and go from there
Thanks for all your adviceHoping to be a thinner me in 2010!0
