I hardly think owning a dog keeping it on your own "private" property is inflicting it on others. You have a choice, if there's a dog in someones yard that you're unsure of don't enter.0

I could understand if it was happening in a public place but come on!!!
Its your choice to enter the property which the dog will usually see as it's own territory
No-ones inflicting anything on you!Future Mrs Gerard Butler

I wish people would keep out of my garden, I live on a main road and have large gates but people insist on leaving the gate open. I try my best to keep the dogs in till the postman has been, but that gets later all the time. My dogs wouldn't hurt anyone but if people keep insisting on leaving my gates open then my dogs are going to be seriously hurt.
I am sick to death of charity bags and pizza takeaway leaflets.

No if you see it in the yard thats fine - but often they just come bounding out of the house.

I'd be quite happy not to enter anywhere if they just put a sign to say - no callers or somesuch.0 -

Noone who lets their dog into the garden is "inflicting it on others" so I don't understand that statement.
It really is simple. Don't post rubbish through people's doors. If its important, then post it. If it isn't then don't bother with it. Most people throw posted leaflets etc away anyway.
There is only one reason why things get delivered to people via the hand delivery system and thats money. Either you want money by asking for a donation or you want goods for a sale or you want people to buy something.
Whatever it is understand that people are getting sick of it....dog or no dog.0 -

We fund its printing through community funds and can't then afford to post 200+ as well. We just try to be a bit community spirited and want people to know what is going on in their community.
We've got nothing against dog owners.0 -
i long for the day when people who put so called free mail through my letterbox are prosecuted, spamming on the internet is illegal, so should spamming through my letterbox be, if i want a few badly printed pages of A4 or a pizza i will go and get one from the appropriate place0

If,in the course of my work,i am savaged by a dog,i will institute legal proceedings for damages against the owner of that dog. I'm sure their public liability insurance/house will cover it.
I dont mind friendly dogs as im a doggy person but what i object to is people who open the front door and let their mangy cur leap all over me/snap/growl.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0 -
Get orf moi land!0

As a responsible dog owner, we've fenced in the front garden (as it was open) so if anyone we don't want coming to the door comes, they're pinned in!!!!
Only joking - I would suggest though, if you live in a rural village that provides newsletters to all villagers, you would know from the other villagers you deliver to if there was a savage dog. Its not like you live in a big town where you don't know the neighbours
WARNING SIGN for post - this is my opinion, please do not be offended, but we are living in a society now that means you have to apologise for everything you do and own0
