Not in my experience, I've received really good service from them and have sent loads of my patients to them as they have wheelchair accessible changing rooms and are based close to the hospital I work at. Certainly not heard anything bad from them either. Thanks for the advice Martin! :money:Member no. 920 - Proud to be dealing with our debts0 -
Might front fastening bras be a help as well? Find out your size, then look online at places that do front fastening ones, so you can keep a bit of independence for you (and shock OH with some nice new bras?)** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **

I do it all because I'm scared.

Any shop should let Mr LW in if he is your carer and this is a situation in which you require care!!
Surely all you need to tell them is that he is your carer and they would let you in... if they say no aren't they just opening themselves up for a discrimination lawsuit?!
I'd definitely ask for a manager if any shop assistant denies your carer access to assist you in trying on clothes....Kavanne

I agree that Mr LW would/should be allowed to accompany his wife into changing rooms as her carer, but perhaps either he or she feels uncomfortable about it? (In fact I believe the OP has said she 'would be horribly embarrassed').
I still think online is the way to go - try on in comfort of own home, no pressure of time, no interruption by (probably) well meaning staff, no pressure to buy, see how different clothing looks etc.Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0 -

Maybe your area is better then... But I don't know anyone who's been fitted correctly by them.. they use a tape measure, which isn't really how it should be done. I don't doubt they have good customer service etc. But there was a campaign recently about their D+ bras being more expensive (now resolved!) which also mentioned their bad fitting, experiences from many many people submitted.0 -
Hi I would suggest buying front fastening bras if you have difficulty undoing them. Maternity bras are really good if you are top heavy as they give good support and many are front fastening.0

Hiya, I am a bra fitter based in Stevenage and you and your hubby can come to me and I can help you, if you would prefer hubby to try the bra on you then that is fine but I can fit you without hardly any touching at all, just by trying the bra on, and it would be in my home so you would have a room to yourself while you try on and call me when you are done so I can check it.
If you are interested then let me know by PM and we can sort something out, if you want to know the kinds of bras I sell then click on my user name and choose 'blue_monkey's homepage' and it'll show you. If I have nothing you like then I can get it in to order.
Next Easter I am going to be setting up a Mobile Fitting Service where I go to people's homes, for a nominal fee, to do bra fittings. That fee will be refunded if a purchase of 2 or more bras is made (otherwise I could be running around the countryside fitting but not earning anything). I am hoping that this service helps people like yourself who cannot get to the shops or that cannot find anywhere to fit them locally as I myself, being a larger size, do not have anywhere within an hours drive that can offer me anything. We do not have anywhere decent to fit around here except at M&S - who, by the way, fit badly. Among the MANY stories I could tell you about how poor their fitting service is I've had 2 ladies recently fitted by M&S in 44/46DD bra sizes who were actually 36HH/36J - people think they are fitted correctly so do not question it but wonder why their bra digs in or they fall out and when they come to buy something from elsewhere wonder why the bras do not fit.
Anyhow, if you want to come you are welcome, there is no charge and no obligation to buy anything from me if you visit me at home and I'll even make you a cuppaI'll just be happy to let you know what your correct size is so you can buy bras that fit you properly in the future, it'll only take a short while out of my day so it really is no problem at all if you want to pop over. You can take as much time as you want to try them on too without feeling you need to be moving quicker because someone else is due to be fitted. I'll be happy to help.

This is because people being fitted assume they have been put into the correct size so why complain if you do not know, what you need to remember is that M&S make bras for themselves so when you want to choose a different brand of bra it will not fit anywhere near the size you really are.
I sell undies and I could tell you a whole different story about M&S bra fitting. I had a lady recently who was sized at a 44C - she bought 10 bras from them as she liked this particular so much, she mentioned it and asked me what I thought of the fit. From looking at her in her t-shirt I could see the back was riding up and I think she was a bit gutted to hear me say 'well I am afraid the back is riding up so it is way, way too big for you', I went and got her a bra from my stock to show here that she was actually a 38E. Yet M&S quite happily sold her 10 expensive bras that did not fit her and were 3 band sizes too big and 3 cup sizes too small. She thought it fit her and got a good buy from M&S.
Ask any bra fitter and they will tell you the same. M&S told me to try Debenhams because whenever she fitted me I kept on questioning the fit of it. :rotfl: Had i not known any different I'd have walked away with incorrectly fitted bras and not been any the wiser.0 -
I'm gonna look at your site too as I have similar problems to Lame Wolf. In fact I have often thought of doing a bra fitting service in my area (I am in Kent). Do you want to expand!!!!0
