Not sure how i would find out what he has told new insurance company chippy, doubt they would give me any information of that kind.
Just at a loss as to what i should be doing now to get the car back.
  • It can be viewed in two ways either civil or criminal.

How long has he had the car?
Have any attempts been made to sell it? Adverts in auto trader etc.
What time period was agreed in which the car would be sold?

He has had the car since 19th september and no attempts at selling it have been made as far as i am aware.
Everytime i asked about it he would make excuses like he hasn't had time or he had to wait till it had been serviced etc but now he just ignores my questions about it so i have to assume he has no intention of selling it now.
Wasn't really an agreed time period for it to be sold but he knew i needed the money and it was assumed he would sell it within the first month.

What did you mean by "force policy" or "policy force" ?

You're right, if it wasn't "police force" the  is definately how I feel.
  • I'd get all your evidence together and visit you local police station and see what they are prepared to do for you.

This car is going down in value each month and something needs to be done soon. If the police won't help you have two choices, a solicitor or write off the money you are owed. It's down to you how much you are willing to fight.

Thanks for all your help chippy, i will pay the police a visit tomorrow and see what they say. If i could afford to write off the money i would just to put an end to it all but that finance is in my name and i need it paid off asap so i am prepared to fight all the way.
Thanks again you have been great :-)

    op:
how could you report stolen when not insured on that vehicle? tell police yes they will retrieve it but then its logged on the database as stolen, then recovered, you will have to pay recovery cost for the vehicle if recovered by the police wich is usually covered by insurence when you report it to them?(im sure ill be corrected). but your not insured on it! i would seek a solicitor to write him a letter asking for it back within 14 days (as you are legally the reg'd owner and keeper) failure to do so will result in a court battle as this will probably be your only option.

    wig:
how would you get a reproduced key if theres no original to copy from and as all the documents are with the car and im assuming the key code card is with the documentation that went with the car, what would they code a copy from to disable imobiliser and open doors? no key code they cant produce a central locking fob, noy key they cant reproduce a key!

    op:
if you were the policy holder on the car and he was named driver how did he cancel the policy? named drivers cant cancel policy's as their not policy holders! and i also thought that if your the registered keeper you have to be policy holder not a named driver??
