Tesco entertainment beware !!!!

Hi folks, I'm a happy bunny today! Tesco phoned me this morning to say that they have the price promise and that I will receive a refund on the difference. They said I should have received an email to this effect.............No!!!!!! I wonder if they saw this site 'cos they didn't seem to take much notice of their own. BTW My son is 15 years old to the unhelpful comments. I appreciate your comments. Thanx
Well done, I was surprised that they hadn't charged you £32 as their price promise is clear online. My son was exactly the same, I pre ordered it for him on a different site. Then cancelled it and got the game from Tesco in the end. £25 with another chart game. :T0 -
Tesco Entertainment for me is one of the worst online companies i've had the displeasure of dealing with. I registered about 10 days ago and ordered the same game, they displayed on the website that it would be despatched within 24 hours. Three days later, and it still was not despatched so I cancelled the order and bought it from my local Asda. Oh no, you can't cancel the order...it's packed and ready for despatch the email said. I sent a couple of emails....no reply. 3 more days later, still not despatched, I phone them and speak to a snotty customer services 'manager' who says in that passive aggressive tone they use that it's ready for despatch and can't be cancelled...but it was ready for despatch 3 days ago....just post it if that's the case! 3 days later I get an email to say that it has been despatched. So now to get a refund I have to drive to a post office, queue up to get a proof of posting, post it back then wait for my refund.....who knows what inefficient ways of wasting my time they have in store next week. Hopefully they'll refund my postage too. Tesco Entertainment.....an absolute abomination.
btw...I hope your son is over 18 as the game is extremely violent and any parent who lets their children play it should be utterly ashamed of themselves.
that's all

Amazon are good for refunding you. I pre-ordered Snow White. A few days after getting it I got £1.01 back because they'd lowered the price since i'd bought it. I didn't even have to ask for it.
I bought a watch from them shortly after it was reduced by £10 so I emailed them, basically they told me to get lost!:(0 -
Ordered Terminaton Salvation last sunday at £9.98. Despatched tuesday when they changed the price to £8.98. According to their price promise I should have been charged £8.98 but they have taken £9.98. Emailed them, got the usual we will reply within 24 hours message but still waiting. I know its only £1 but its the principle I guess.....ah well ordered it when they were running the 500 points promotion which I'm obviously fully confident will appear on my february clubcard statement:rotfl:0

I also saw a quick price reduction on a game I bought a while ago from Tesco Entertainment. Emailed a few times to say can I have the difference back - and they said NO.
So I said to them - "but if I return it and re-order at the lower price, you have to process a return, and re-process a new order and dispatch it - so it is cheaper for THEM to just credit the difference"
Still no joy. So I took it back to a Tesco store (I was going anyway, so no wasted journey) and they hummed but still refunded. I then re-ordered at the new lower online price.
Result - I got my game cheaper, with no real extra effort. Tesco had to process as return, and process and send a new one. Who lost out more ?
Conclusion - they should have been sensible and refunded the difference. It would have been cheaper for them !!!0 -
I am delighted for you - well done!
As for commiting fraud..........I would have no hesitation is buying something if it goes in the sale and returning it using the original receipt - who is to know?
Clever and also money saving if you ask me!

I would be happy if a 15 year old wanted to play computer games - there are a lot of teenagers out there doing a lot lot worse than playing a violent computer "game" !

In any case, how is it fraud, if you are returning EXACTLY the same item (same barcode etc), especially if you have a receipt ?0 -
I totally agree with you but verrucasalt on page 1 disagrees
