How does your partner "not have any bills"? Does she not eat, use water, electric, etc?
She lives with parents at the moment and the income support pays for that, which she is to lose when we move in together!!Make £0/£100 Feb 2016 (Late starter)
New Year resolution get bum into gear and get debt free :cool:0 -
She will not need the IS because you will be able to support her!
I can only support someone if I have the funds to do so, that is the whole problem!!! I barely keep my house, and am unable to sell it, so where's the answer live apart for ever, let her have my children get a council house and not live together.Make £0/£100 Feb 2016 (Late starter)

I am intrigued as to where you think this council house is going to appear from!
The benefits system does not take into account your debts, they are of your own making and therefore you need to find a way to support your family and manage your debts.Gone ... or have I?0 -

Not after a council house, but my gf has been offered one that is where the subject of moving in together came from. We didnt want that, but if she takes council house she recieves an extra £600 a month, whereas if she moves in with me she loses £400 a month. Go figure.
My debts are my debts yes I agree, but still seems ridiculous if we not together she recieves £1000 a month more than if we are together!!Make £0/£100 Feb 2016 (Late starter)

So you would rather that your children grow up knowing 'mummy and daddy don't live together as we want to bludge off the state rather than paying our own way'? Great example to set your kids there! :rolleyes:Gone ... or have I?0 -

No hence why we have chosen not to have kids yet, i was brought up better than that, but can you not see the madness in the benefits recieved if we were to do that. Why'd you think theyre are so many messed up kids, whose parents dont live together, because the government make it so much easier financially for them not to :mad:Make £0/£100 Feb 2016 (Late starter)

So now it is the govts fault that people bring their children up badly! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
You have a very clear choice. Use your more than adequate income to raise a family, or resign yourself to being a dole bludger. It is not the govt that is at fault here, it is your idea that money comes before a stable family unit.Gone ... or have I?0 -

It isnt because the government make it 'easier' for parents to live seperately. The 'system' is there as a fallback, to protect and support the vulnerable when needed. Unfortunately, there is a subculture of people within our society who use benefits as a lifestyle choice rather than as a fallback, a group of people who would rather have 'messed up kids' with seperated parents because living seperately is more lucrative. Why blame the government for the reckless and mercenary attitudes of the minority?0
