Samsung N110 is the improved NC10 - better battery life and a bigger touchpad. I got mine (and my sister's) from PC World Refurbished for £229.99 each delivered with Quidco cashback.

    It's lovely :)

I was wondering about the refurb ones but was a little wary of buying one?

My acer is a refurb - I think as long as they come with a guarantee and have been refurbed by the manufacturer then you should be okay...famous last words of course ;)

    I have the aspire one...
Note: the Aspire One series is a family of products, not a specific model.

Its for travelling that he wants it - we both have laptops at home but he wants a small one to take out and about at work (so he doesn't have to keep ringing me asking me to check this, that and the other on the net!)

Ideal for that, and very useable.

I used mine on holiday - backing up the digital pics, listening to music DVD's etc, picking up email from internet cafe's, remoting into work.

Also great for going to Client meetings - most have large screens you can connect to, so you can show presentations, etc. Very portable and the battery life means you don't need to carry the charger.

just looking at the nc10 on amazon and it links to the n130 saying "there is a newer version of this model" - would I therefore be better looking for the n130 instead?

ETA - looking at the n130 looks like I'll stick with the nc10 as the n130 doesn't have bluetooth which hubby would prob. want.

I don't think bluetooth is that big a deal. Even if you wanted a wireless mouse etc, most come with an adaptor.

I have rarely, if ever, used bluetooth. Even when I connect a phone to sync, I use a cable - you get a better and faster and more reliable connection.

Maybe for wireless headphones etc, but they may well come with an adaptor.
  • Hubby often takkes pictures on his phone though when he's out and about and would want to be able to upoad them straught away - he can't be trusted with a bluetooth dongle lol

Still cant make my mind up which one to get - was looking at the hannspree one that was advertised on hduk - thats another recommended one - perhaps I'll go back to getting socks and slippers - be a damn site easier lol

I have to confess I bluetooth stuff my 'phone to my laptop/netbook all the time. We were a Nokia household but then switched to Samsungs, keeping up with the chargers is bad enough but trying to sort out data cables would be too much.

However, bluetooth is always switched off on the mobiles unless we are using it at the time.
  • This one has Bluetooth. That do?
