I can only assume the person on the phone didn't know the right answer, so told you the wrong information. If you have a fault thats a differnet matter but VM DO traffic Management all the time for everyone except XXL. The policy is at http://allyours.virginmedia.com/html/internet/traffic.html
Traffic managment on the lowest 2mb plan kicks in after 200MB is downloaded (at any time) and on the XL after 7GB is downloaded during the day, or 3.5GB in the evening. Your then throttled to 25% of your speed for the next 5 hours.
Please don't take this the wrong way but I don't do much downloading although we use a pair of internet radios and the Iplayer occasionally, and we never have had speed issues or been throttled. If traffic management means the people who suck bandwidth and slow everyone else down then choose to leave to go elsewhere I'm all for it.0 -

When the speed is what it should be in the mornings I can download 4GB at any given time without it slowing whatsoever. I only get throttled in the evening.
The speed in general is very inconsistent and that's the issue, it's nothing to do with throttling as I only ever get a certain speed when this does kick in.If traffic management means the people who suck bandwidth and slow everyone else down then choose to leave to go elsewhere I'm all for it.
It's not the sole reason I'm choosing to leave but if it's made you happy then I'm pleased to be of service.0
