    Mortgage-free Glee!
    Just thought I would add.....

when I worked in the catering trade, the mayo used, bought in bulk, and NOT Hellmans, tasted in my opinion, more like salad cream than than Hellmans mayo.

So i now tend to add both to things I make like coleslaw and prawn cocktail ...... I am glad that salad cream is making a comeback!
  • I think salad cream is a british classic, don't know why but mayo just seems americany, iykwim... Salad cream is good for loosening things up which have been made with mayo...Salad cream is much more tangy than moay, which unless you're a millionaire and can afford hellmans, tastes pretty bland. Cheese savoury can only be improved upon by a generous grinding of black pepper, yumyum.
