Hello wonderful people, hope the sun is blazing where you are, as it is here!
What I was wondering is.. you know when you make hm cheese savoury, for in your sarnies, is it cheese, onion, carrot then mixed with mayo or salad cream... help!! Any cheese sav recipes/variations would be fab.
Thanks in advance- off for a ice pop, cheaper than a lolly!!

it mayo most of the time for coleslaw or chesse savoury. i would use salad cream on just a cheese salad roll or summit.............If i upset you don't stress, never forget that god aint finished with me yet.0

I would guess that it depends on what you want the end taste to be like. I have used both - the salad cream having more bit and IMO tasting more like the ones I used to buy from the bakery 'Greggs'. I also used to put a bit of finely chopped/grated celery which makes is a bit more refreshing.... IYKWIM?

I use mayo in ours; I mix in grated mature cheddar, chopped onion, red pepper and pineapple. Yum.I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....0

Angeldelight - did they use celery in their recipe? The closest I have ever got it is with celery and salad cream (and all the other bits in the op).
That said the last time I had one from there it wasn't the same as when I had a 'thing' for them - we're talking pre married days, about 10 years ago  I wanted to make some for my wedding reception and spent hours trying to replecate it :rotfl: Sad I know - and probably ended up spending more than if I'd paid for them to make it all

ah thanks spendless- was onto my 3rd 11hr shift at work, either that or i'm just as thick as pigs IYKWIM!! Thanks for letting me know. Off to take the eyes out of my tatties and make cheese savoury, its lush from Greggs, so looks like the Mayo has won. Used to love the cheese savoury salad whoppa's from my local Greggs, but they started being really tight with the filling so gave them up. Also Greggs has a bit of a reputation, through no fault of their own. They seem to have ended up with the title of being finest baby/toddler- dinner producer in the North East, Sausage rolls-pastry covering prams all over Tyne and Wear.
Also, question for former greggs girls- why did they take the pockets away from the tabards?? Just curious...RIP Floyd - 19/04/09. I know i'll see you again my best friend forever.
