Wow....this week has gone tooooo fast!

Tues-Spagbol
Wed-Lamb Stew (Onion,Carrots,Parsnip,Peas, sachet) & HM Dumplings (Feeding Neighbours)
Thurs-Pizza (TTD reduced to 49p) & Salad
Fri-Take-Away
Sat-Chilli Con Carne (I use value tortilla crisps instead of taco shells)-will make extra and freeze for a baked spud lunch next week
Sun-Chicken, Stuffing, Roasts, Yorkies, Sprouts, Carrots & Peas (Feeding Neighbours)
So what is everyone else having?
Have a good week.

We're also clearing out the freezer - our piggie will be in within 2 weeks, so we need space

Here's my plan:
Sunday – HM Berkshire pork liver pate
roast pheasant with HM pancetta, prune and apple sauce, roasted roots; HG gooseberry pie
Monday – HM sausage and Berkshire kidney casserole, mashed potato, vegetables
Tuesday – gallette au chou, vegetables
Wednesday – rabbit casserole
Thursday – fish pie, peas and sweetcorn
Friday – I’ll wait for inspiration!
Saturday – Pizza and Strictly
DH and I have a week off work to decorate our sitting room, so we’ll have pitas, soup, quesadillas, bread for lunch. There’s banana flapjack and chocolate cake in the tin.:rudolf: Sheep, pigs, hens and bees on our Teesdale smallholding :rudolf:0 -

Mon: HM Chilli & Rice (Meeting Night)
Tues: ? Hopefully going to the cinema so something quick and easy!

There’s banana flapjack and chocolate cake in the tin.
The piggie sounds great PP. I bet it will taste lovely and at least you know that it's had a brilliant life.
Can I ask for your recipe of the chocolate cake and how long does it last in the tin? I am looking for easy cake/biscuit recipes that last a few days in the tin.
Your mealplan sounds very tasty.
Thanks

Ack, this means I'm going to have to start December's meal plans soon!! Luckily I start maternity leave at the end of the month, so can make some leisurely dinners during the week rather than the quick-and-dirty I usually do
.
Mon - HM chili con carne
Tues - spinach lentil soup
Weds - cottage pie
Thurs - something with leftover refried beans in the freezer
Fri - mince & onion cobbler
Over the weekend we're going to Sheffield so no meal plans needed!

Where has the time gone it's flying by
To Penny Pincher for starting the thread. Hope you are feeling ok and what a star you are for feeding your neighbour too.
We're having:
Monday: Potato Bake (made with the leftovers from the gammon I'm doing on Sunday and added onions, peppers, grated carrots & any other veggies I find lying around
)
Tuesday: Spaghetti Bolognaise with HM Garlic Bread
Wednesday: Corned Beef Hash
Thursday: Falafel, Wedges & Beans
Friday: Chilli & Rice
Saturday: Butternut Squash & Mushroom Lasagne & Oven Baked Chips
Sunday: Bacon, Onion & Potato Hotpot with mashed carrots & swede and peas
Lunches are usually HM soup, sandwiches, cheese on toast or pate & crackers.
I will be making this cake from Mary Berry as it's delish
Apricot Scones and White Choc Chip & Cranberry Muffins. There's also an abundance of fresh & dried fruit & nuts for picking if anyone wants anything extra.
Have a good week everyone

It's an easy recipe - for a single tier 8" cake, I use 200g each of soft margarine, eggs, caster sugar, and 2Tbsp cocoa made up to 200g
Whip for 2 mins until light and mixed. Bake at gas 5 until cooked. I decorate with buttercream and whatever decorations we have in
You can miss out the cocoa, leave it plain, or add coffee, orange, lemon, etc, etc :T
When DS is at his most active, it lasts no time at all, but if I have the oven on, I'll make a cake, and it'll keep in its baking tin for a week before I ice it (I find it keeps fresher in a baking tin - but make sure it's lined). Once it's iced it'll keep for a further 4 days at least.
I store my cakes in a Lock'n'lock "cake saver" box - not cheap, but as it's in permanent use, it was a bargain

Thanks SunnyGirl. I'm still plodding (sp) along:D...neighbours are in their late 70's and dont have anyone to help. I cant do much really, but I can do extra dinner and make sure they are at least having a couple of good meals a week.
Hope you're ok.

Thanks PP. How many eggs is that, and if I used coffee, would I use instant and at what quantity? Also, if I left in the baking tin before it was iced for a few days, would I put this in another container or just by itself?
Sorry for all the questions, but I really do appreciate it.
Thanks

I need to clear some freezer space too (nevermind try and spend as little as possible)
I've got a portion of bolognese mince that may become a chilli and a bolognese for 2 nights once I stretch it with mushrooms/kidney beans. A couple of chicken breasts which should do another 2 nights and a portion of veg curry for another night.
Hopefully I can manage to clear the space and not buy much in.0
