Where to buy car servicing bits and bobs?

Cheap doesn't necessarily mean good...... I'm not a big fan of ECP, some of their stuff is very poor quality (that is if they have supplied the correct parts in the first place...) - you have to request OE to make sure that you are getting decent parts.
Better to use a different motor factor, like GSF or if you are south east Motex. Or even main dealer parts - they are not always dearer than motor factors, sometimes they are cheaper.
Support BER if you want any of the above companies to survive.... it will be tough on them if it isn't renewed.Genie

Really? He should sue then. If the car/vehicle was serviced in accordance with the manufacturers specifications, by a VAT registered garage using genuine or OE parts, then he has legal rights and he could and should take it to the European court.Genie

If the garage serviced it correctly, then he really should get some legal advice....... Rather than hijack this thread, do you have a link to this? I may be able to point him in the right direction for assistance.hewhoisnotintheknow wrote: »in an ideal world yes

Thats cheap, I must admit the only ones I've bought have been for Toyota, VW and Renault and they were hugely expensive. The VW one had to come from the main dealer as it was a relatively new but high mileage car and the independant manufacturers had then yet to offer it, cost about £55 if I recall:eek:I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0 -
One option is Halfords trade card.
Wilkinsons sell gear oil in 1 litre bottles at a reasonable price (if it's the type of spec you need). You shouldn't need more than 3 litres I don't think

To be honest mate gear oil is irrelevant, unless you take out the drive shafts, etc, as it is never changed on a service, checked for level and topped up is the order of the day.
Still see no possibility of a full service at the cost **** inferred????I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

If you had it serviced properly then all the gear oils should be changed! Obviously it is healthy for the gear box and diff etc.cyclonebri1 wrote: »To be honest mate gear oil is irrelevant, unless you take out the drive shafts, etc, as it is never changed on a service, checked for level and topped up is the order of the day.
