You can create a new folder in Windows Explorer called Vista Theme then Just Unzip it to that folder, then double click the file VistaXP.msstyles and make changes that way.
Or Unzip as before then right click the desktop. properties then Appearance Tab and have a look there.0 -

Just installed this, removed all icons from desktop, set up apps from taskbar at top of screen.

one thing I've noticed is although it looks black normally, the moment you open anything, e.g. favourites, history, or even one of the toolbar menus, it appears in the ghastly blueand also I can't see the image previews on Hotmail messages - before the jpegs would be displayed at the bottom of the email message but now it displays a red cross (no not the England flag - I mean the red x  ) so I've actually got to manually download each attachment before being allowed to see it, and even then it only saves as a bmp not a jpeg
I also grabbed a couple of new wallpapers yesterday - "Windows Vista" on a scenic background. Sweet :cool:spacey0 -
One thing to do is to go into appearance and switch from XP view to classic view and then you can change anything you like then, also the blue is ok on my screen looks quite nice, maybe alter your brightness if you can.
Now JPG and BMP I would say thats to do with the PC or Hotmail not the theme pack as skinning shouldnt affect the way graphics are viewed from a program.
Just right click a picture (jpg) in My Pctures and choose open with and maybe change what program opens that type of picture (file).0 -

I'm not sure what I could do with it = the brightness is max and also the buttons for maximising and minimising windows are similar which can be confusing.
Say, if there was a new pack which included the thing for the alpha transparency, and I downloaded and applied it like i did with this one, would it work, i.e. be transparent?? if yes, then my next quest is to search for onespacey0 -
Did you switch to classic Style?,
Appearance, Windows and Buttons, Windows Classic Style.
If you do that will allow a lot more colour changes.
Bring down the brightness not up it.
There are loads of Themes, Try a Google for XP Themes0 -

I've googled for Themes - am I right in thinking this changes the taskbar, window frames and icons?Any you'd recommend for the vista look?
