And yet 'measureably' they do. Odd that

I'm interested to find out how you can measure a subjective difference.

They fed a signal down a hdmi and there were measureable errors when it came out the other end

    Pretty self explanatory really

The ultimate quandary/debate to stimulate the thread for another 10 pages or so:

Would a Mac connected to an HD TV with DVI/HDMI converter and no-name, cheap HDMI cable produce a better picture than a Windows PC connected to the same TV with an exorbitantly priced Monster (or similar) HDMI cable? Discuss. ;)

Of course it would! How could you possibly think otherwise? :p

    Stupid boy.

(Actually, I've got a networked and upgraded Apple Mac G4 Cube connected to our Sony 52" television via a Belkin DVI to HDMI cable and it produces a terrific picture. :) )

I'm sure the bigger problem we have is how to connect my blu-ray player to my tv using just a cute little kitten.
Why buy when you can win!

I find it interesting that you think a digital HDMI link could be prone to slight analog signal deterioration that somehow alters the encoded video data in such a subtle way to produce a tiny difference in the overall picture quality but not cause any of the normal digital video corruption artifacts.

(Yawn... maybe its time for me to go to bed too..)

Subjectively. With a gun, a duck and a reasonable sense of detachment. :D

It's simple. You plug one end of a £500 HDMI cable into your Blu-ray player and get the kitten to walk across the room with the the other end and plug it into the television, silly.
