that seems clear enough - pro is £8.50 as an add on or £17 ( plus vat on both)
Pro gives 2gb , with no restriction to using with a laptop ( or portable device)

whereas the standard version is more restricted ( not sure if they can tell though!) ... plus some really cheap offers on the standard add on ( effectively 3m free web& walk)

Yup, Pro is designed for laptop use - just used it with mine tonight since the broadband connection at home went down. Very fast, very reliable.

The WnW Pro is only useful if you have a 3G Sim otherwise the speed will be too slow to fully exploit unlimited browsing.

Can 3G be activated on any T-Mob sim card (like Voda) or you need to buy a 3G phone from them to get a 3G sim card ?

Does your sim-only contract allow surfing at 3G speeds ?

Yes, on Orange you need a 3G provisioned SIM card to access their 3G network. On T-Mobile - anything goes - any of their SIMs will get access through the 3G network (same for Virgin which runs on top of T-Mobile).

As I have a dual mode T-Mobile transmitter half a kilometre away from where I live, I get 5 bars of 3G signal and a decent speed for browsing the web. This is using a 3G data card (have not tried with Nokia n70 but it gets a 3G signal so should be no different).

As said, I believe Vodafone works in the same way - any SIM will access 3G or 2.5G? O2 I'm not sure as I haven't used them for some time (had a very bad experience in the past).

Has the free 12-month Hot Spot pass been removed from this deal? It seems that the wording has been changed in the past couple of days.

Now it says that the data card gives you access to the Hot Spots but unless I am misreading it or not remembering what it originally said, I don't think it mentions this being free any more.

Just wondering because as I understand it, wi-fi is usually a bit better (more access and quicker, no?) than 3G which isn't always available in all areas.

Excuse my ignorance as I am still trying to get my head round all this.

Also, has anyone managed to get the no-contract sim deal with the data card web & walk pro option added on for a total of £18.50? If so, was the data card free or did you have to shell out £60 for it?
