Upgrade Tiscali 512k Broadband to 1MB for free
Options
Hi,
I currently use Tiscali 512k and pay £24.99 a month.
They have now introduced a 1MB package for the same price of £24.99
I would recommend everyone with Tiscali upgrades, I have just been on the phone to them and they have shut the upgrade process web area until the 11th January so everyone can upgrade after this date.
Or if you want to stay on 512K, still upgrade again to 512K and you will then pay only £19.99 instead of £24.99 a month.

This is great - I am on the Tiscali 512K and I was starting to feel that I was paying too much. Will def look into this.

Great find letZshop!
Unfortunately I've only got bad things to say about Tiscali though:-
1) I always had problems with their e-mail service - it would sometimes take up to 24 hours for my e-mails to be delivered to their recipients, and they were regularly delayed a number of hours. >:(
2) Discovered that during my tenure with them they moved their technical call centre to India, and they were utterly inept at solving anything. Once my serviced dropped and I called them. When I mentioned I had a ADSL router they jumped on it and assured me that must be the cause, despite my protestations. It miraculously cured itself an hour later. >:(
3) When I decided to move after 12 months, it took Tiscali over a month to removed ADSL from my line. The only way to chase them (which I did repeatedly) was to contact the aforementioned Indian call centre who were extremely vague and utterly useless; the UK-based billing dept wouldn't help me. >:(
I'm now with Pipex and it's been smooooth sailing all the way!
Anyway, don't take my word for it, check out http://www.adslguide.org"I am not Geoff Vadar, I'm Darth Vadar"0 -
I've had no problems service wise with Tiscali and I've been using them for the last 13 months.
Only one thing I could say is they don't seem to advertise these new prices to existing customers. I stumbled upon the price drop from £26.99 to £24.99 by mistake and again this afternoon I stumbled upon the new packages.0 -
Been with Tiscali for a number of years on dial up... can't comment on their broadband service, but their dial-up and email services have been terrible.
Only laziness on my part and the imminent arrival of ADSL to where I live has stopped me changing provider.Ah! Good old trusty beer... I hope you never change.0 -
I just rang someone on the sales team at Tiscali (we are customers) and she says current Broadband subscribers will automaically be upgraded by the 31st March.0

Tiscali have been excellent for me
But thanks to original poster regarding this ;DBe nice0 -
My brother used to use Tiscali until discovering (finally...) that they hadn't given him the rate (512k) that he was paying for, when he complained, they refused to refund him, so he told them where to stick it and went on to Wanadoo.Gingercat0

They've been good for me too...knock wood. I've been with them for approaching a year. I was considering changing to adsl4less, coz I could get higher speed for less money than I currently pay. But when I phoned to find out about MAC they said they don't support migration, and I will need to cancel. (Was a bit peeved at the time)
So upon looking for the best deals with a new ISP I came across the "New" prices. When I phoned to enquire, I was told they're updating the website, and I could upgrade after the 11th. The prices seem more favorable now, and don't have to have the hassle of waiting for new provider, actvation fee etc, and when I complete my 12 mth contract, I can cancel anytime giving 1mth notice. Not too bad now.0 -
hi all
im with tiscali too and thier tech suppor is appaling, the only reason im withthem is i dont want to goto the hassle of changing providers does anybody know if we upgrade are we given another 12 mth contract??God made man, man made money, money made man mad0 -
Hi,
I have been with Tiscali for 1.5yrs, and no problems so far - touch wood. I did have a few problems when the account was opened but no probs ever since.
I also had to find out about the previous broadband price drop myself, I'm looking forward to a faster connection for the same price though.
It's about time Tiscali did drop the price, or offer better value as everyone else has done.
When it comes to support there is not many companies that I can say have great technical support, or ones that don't want to charge you premium rate numbers for support.
