In reality i don't think the standards are so high for pet food as it is for human food..

Imagine if it was, price of dog food would go through the roof.
Whats not good enough for us, is good enough for our pets, even Perry is partial to the odd crunchy moth.

Yes a shock to see in a sealed can of dog food, but to be honest over the years i've seen worse in a tin of spaghetti hoops, just one of those things
Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?
  • So, between Nestle and Waltham Foods, they've just about got the pet food market sewn up! ;) :rotfl:

Absolutely - I buy Wagg or CSJ though... who are both small companies and not subsidiaries of a massive multi-national!:T

They both make their food in the UK too, so less air miles!

Actually Waltham are not a petfood manufacturer - they are a research centre owned by Mars (of Mars bar fame)

One of the biggest manufacturers of petfood in the world is Mars - who have Pedigree, Whiskas and Royal Canin, Kitekat, Pal, Sheba, Chappie, Cesar, infact every product shown on your link is a Mars product -

They have used the animals at Waltham in TV adverts - I remember the one with the cats watching tv that was done there. They have hundreds of dogs and cats there. All very well fed and looked after.

Just a piece of useless information for those that didn't know.

I worked for Mars for many years, though not in the pet food division.

Mum's now dead dog used to eat flies, flying spiders and any other spider that managed to have the misfortune of coming near her. Good for me, I'm scared of 'em, and I'd rather they were gone! Never did her any harm, she lived to a ripe old age. (I did forget to mention one spider she ate was the size of a side plate that I'd stunned with a ruler as it chased me from the loo - cue one happy looking dog under the desk muching away)
