OK, I had a lousy day.
A challenge to the 'bulls', or anyone else for that matter.
Cheer me up - remind me again why the economic climate is great, everything is great and is just about to get much, much better....

If you keep your job and your wealth through the recession you should come out richer. Also it is a time of opportunity, perhaps a once in a life time of opportunity. It's just finding the opportunity's that is the hard thing.
Also rewired will still love you what ever the day you had.:)0 -

1. You live, and will most likely continue to live, a life where you will not have to go without anything you need beyond the most expensive medical care
2. You live in a country where property and privacy rights are, for the most part, protected. Where, for the most part, you can think, speak and act as you see fit.
3. You live in one of the most beautiful parks in the world (Britain doesn't really have much wilderness but it is managed in a way that makes it very good to look at)
4. British pubs can be great
5. The best of British food can be compared with the greatest in the world
6. You're not French
7. It's only 4 months before the sun stops going down just after lunch
8. Max Headroom started posting here again
9. I qualified as a referee yesterday (be happy for me if not yourself)
10. Whatever happens we'll all end up muddling through the depression and what follows - even the 1930s ended (ok they ended with total war followed by years of grinding austerity but we got there in the end).0 -

Watch Lipstick on your collar, on the Yesterday channel now or +1 and see what it was like in the 50's
'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
Oh, that'll be a negative come June... (for those who were not watching the hand of Thierry Henry just took France to the World Cup at the expense of the Irish).6. You're not French"The state is the great fiction by which everybody seeks to live at the expense of everybody else." -- Frederic Bastiat, 1848.0 -

The economy is just a made up bunch of numbers which don't really mean anything to anyone. Stuff goes up, stuff goes down, but life remains the same and nothing much changes. Everyone just moans a bit about their house being worth a bit less, petrol being a bit more, but you're not a starving family in Rwanda at the end of the day. It's the tangible, real stuff that matters.
Oh, and as Generali said, at least you're not French.0 -
As long as there is bread on the shelves of tescos then everything is ok0
