  • i know.. but people get bored with their own lives so take it out on here with stupidity.

    though that probably includes me sometimes... Public displays are never as much fun as home ones. apart from yours of course ;)

  • how is it a strange thing to post...i commented on something someon had written...it did make me giggle...thought thats what puns were supposed to do. oh well.

    and it is exactly the same as saying the burger doesnt look as it does in the picture because price is irrelevent..as the statement about the burger and your fireworks is a matter of opinion...in your opinion they werent worth the money..just as the guy didnt think hes burger was worth the money but again that his his personal opinion.
    from the point of the company unless your fireworks were defctive..ie didnt ignite..it really isnt there problem...just because you didnt enjoy them doesnt mean there was anything wrong with it.
    somebody else couldve paid the same got the same and be perfectly happy with them!
  • and sorry if you think my comments were 'catty' they were never intended that way...i was just stating a fact that just because yu didnt like them doesnt mean they arent any good..sorry if you take offence to that!

    Apology accepted.

    There were 30 people at our display. Most of the kids got bored and went off to do something else part way through and the two who had been sat in the car because they are terrified of fireworks and loud bangs, both came and sat at the front.

    All the adults agreed that they were crap. It isn't just my opinion. - they actually were crap.
  • lol i would if i was there be inclined to agree with you however i was trying to put in from a companys point of view they would only see it as your opinion..if that makes sense :)

    I do see what you mean, I dont expect them to do anything - I know what their customer service is like anyway having had to argue for half an hour to get my money back for a cup stand that had to have equal amounts of cups on both sides otherwise it fell over! but I do want to warn others about going there. Incidentally we got some from Homebase the day after for £20 and they were about 10 times better.

    Give Trading Standards a ring and see what they say.

    We had Sainburys and they weren't that good either.
  • ...and I'll tell you why;

    Once legal sales of safe manufacturer/distributor/importer endorsed BS7114 compliant retail indoor garden and display fireworks are banned this will be replaced by an unstoppable uncontrollable unregulated blackmarket in the trade and sales to the public of more powerful dangerous potentially lethal and possibly deadly import fireworks which would have several times more explosive power and lethal force than would be allowed to be sold, and secondly the quality and safety reliability and performance of those items could well be suspect with defects like loose fuses/leaky cases/flimsy or loose rocket sticks/erratic flight and movement etc which could kill or injure the user or they could malfunction badly and injure or kill/maim/burn spectators watching them,

    Also idiots could try to concoct their own homemade fireworks and explosive devices from household substances and tampering with legal pyrotechnics such as theatrical devices/distress flares etc and with the added danger of these amateur kitchen sink chemists burning themselves destroying their homes causing housefires explosions injuries even deaths should the mixtures detonate ignite or explode while being mixed/produced or while the finished devices are being ignited or used.

    Those two reasons are EXACTLY WHY the govt refuses to ban them fireworks from retail sales and private use;they also realise that there IS a sensible majority like myself that DON'T misuse them and don't fool around with them etc etc etc who use them legit and enjoy them as a spectacular form of entertainment-I did a fantastic display on Fri Nov 6th with lots of good Men Shun and TNT Cat3 display firework items, everyone was 25m upwind of the fireworks and I took good care to make sure everything was safe ie large builders buckets of sand to bury tall substantial fireworks in, boards to stand roman cakes on, posts for catherine wheels and plenty of rocket tubes(angled away from people and property)to do multiple rocket launches, and I wore a hard hat gloves and safety goggles while firing the whole lot and NOBODY CAME TO ANY HARM. Public displays are rubbish;ankle deep mud, muddy fields, overpriced food, short 10min displays,no sparklers allowed and overzealous safety stewards and overcrowded viewing points-I won't go to them for those reasons, at least with a well organised private do,you choose the fireworks, you decide who comes, food and drink is much cheaper and you can have just as good a time without the travelling and expense etc that a public display brings.

    Ours would have been like that if we had had any decent fireworks... :o

    Best places to buy from are those that sell the 1.3G fireworks like Epic Fireworks of Batley and Fireworks Warehouse of St Helens;they're really loud proud and rather good too!:cool:
