Hi all
I have had a iphone 3g on o2 for the past 18 months, I have just got a new 3gs and would like to give my old iphone to my step son 4 xmas, can anyone advice me how i can do this... can i just pay a pay as u go sim on o2 for him or is it possible for his 3 mobike sim to work if i unlock it ?

I think i may be wrong however i think that once your contract is up, O2 will unlock your phone for you to use on any network. Not 100% sure but think i may have read this on this websire recently.
I'm sure someone will either confirm this or shoot me down in flames!0 -
Just out of interest, did you upgrade? if so how did you do it? Did you go into the shop or phone?0

Thanks my old phone contact wasnt up untill the 14th dec but i rang them and they said as i was a gold customer they will let me do it now and my iphone came the next day :j

What do I need to do?
Firstly, complete the unlocking form - it will take up to 14 days for the iPhone to be unlocked and we'll text you to confirm the unlock request. Then place a non-O2 sim into the iPhone and connect to iTunes via a USB cable. iTunes will confirm that the iPhone has been successfully unlocked.0
