iPhone unlocked by o2
Just received a text message from o2 stating my iPhone has been unlocked.
I filled in this form - http://shop.o2.co.uk/update/unlockmyiphone.html on their website.
I will try a SIM when I get home.
Anyone else got theirs unlocked?

I have just tried this, the only day I don't have the thing with me!
I'll let you know how it goes.0 -
Mine did take a couple of weeks to get the message as it states now I will have to hook it up to iTunes and hopefully it will unlock.
I have jailbroken my iPhone so I am unsure of the implications of hooking it up to get it unlocked.0 -
Just got my text today. I've yet to hook it to iTunes though.0

mine worked perfectly. plugged into iTunes, asked if I wanted to update carrier settings - pressed yes and hey presto one unlocked iPhone!
Hadn't been jailbroken (is that a word!?), so don't know if this would affect things.
Interestingly mine is on PAYG but I used my wife's pay monthly (iPhone) account details and mobile number on the O2 form but with my IMEI. Worth a try I thought and it worked! Excellent!Any opinions are my own and are offered as advice only and not fact.0 -

How does it work if you're in the middle of a contract with O2 for another 12 months? Suppose you put an Orange sim card in? Would you have two bills?A problem shared is a problem multiplied.
