  • Yes it is free to return you can either return to store, phone the courier to collect it for you to return to debenhams and I believe on the website it said you could print off a pre-paid form on the internet and take the parcel to the post office - hope this helps. Still debating on whether to keep the set or not as it is still a great buy but still feeling very cheated  Don't know if anything can be done re the fact they're showing a different picture to what is being supplied??
    Have you opened it yet?
It was such an impulse buy for me, as I also bought the Cherry Cottage, I'm wondering is it worth almost £50!!

  • Not Yet!! my mum is going into our local store tommorow to see if they have the set that was pictured but I think Im living in hope!! I am sure they will all be like the ones that I received this morning. Might be giving trading standards a call in the morning to see what they advise if I dont get a satifactory reply from email Im now about to type! I do think the Happyland stuff is fantastic but just disappointed that my little girl has not got everything they had advertised on the picture:rolleyes:
  • I expecting mine to arrive tomorrow, so it will be interesting to hear what they say.

Am still waiting for a reply to my email, strangely enough they seem to have pulled the set from their online sales!!;) Looking on hotdeals uk yesterday I notice some people have managed to get up to a further 20% off set as its not as pictured, heres hoping.........................

I phoned Debenhams tonight (gave up during the day as too busy and kept getting cut off). The Supervisor was aware of the problems and it seems that if you phone up to complain about it you will be offered 20% refund. I just said that a 'friend' had been given 20% back and could I have the same.
Good luck if you phone up. It's worth it as is a lot cheaper than ELC.

Hmm Debenhams are also selling it through Ebay (via DebenahamsatEbay , I'm assuming its part of the company , rather than a private seller using the Debenahms name) http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Early-Learning-Centre-Happy-land-playset_W0QQitemZ270486671566QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Toys_Creative_Educational_RL?hash=item3efa4310ce using the same picture as the main site, but I can't seem to find any feedback for this item though to see whether it has been as described.

I'm also waiting on a set ,ordered from the main website , will be a tad annoyed if its not the same as the picture.

    Hi,
Mine has just arrived this morning and it is the same one as you all describe - it has no doctors surgery and a green roof. I'll be attempting to give Debenhams a call today - don't rate my chances though.
Be interesting to hear how others get on!

Folks - I'm sure this should be taken to Trading Standards. Put it like this. A couple of years ago, I placed an order with debenhams for what looked like a shirt & tie in a box. Upon delivery it was only a shirt. I took to Trading Standards who spoke to Debenhams & Debs compensated me for the tie more than the shirt cost so I got a result.
  • Hi
Has anyone had a response to their email yet? i've emailed but not heard anything yet. i'm very disapointed with this and while it's still a bargain it's prob going to cost what i had saved to get the things that are missing if you know what i mean. I am going to get onto consumer direct on monday and see what they say, it cant be right, i wonder how many people would have ordered if the item was shown correctly?

Mine's arrived - and yes, it's the smaller set. I borrowed my dad's card to pay, so they won't even talk to me (and he doesn't like phoning call centres), so no chance of getting any further there

Phoebepants - if you take a look on Boots, they have three of the smaller buildings (police, vet and doctor), and a set of 8 schoolchildren, on 3for2 - works out cheaper than ELC themselves :)
