Say no to Sky's 0844 numbers campaign

Just for information; If you subscribe to Sky's top broadband (unlimited) and talk (anytime, including line rental) packages which are both packages you pay £26pcm, less £2.50 if you renew your contract for another 12 months. That's £23.50pcm for anytime calls and unlimited broadband in which case you wouldn't have to pay anything when calling Sky as it would be within your calls tariff! Now, as far as I can see, that's a cheap package in the first place and then gives you the added benefit of having free calls to Sky when ever you want, as long as the call doesn't go over an hour because you'd need to hang up and call again!

Righto then, just my 2 penneth worth on what's been said also;

Why berate the OP for publishing a Cheif Executives email address, as previously mentioned, it's not really his email address afterall!

If you don't like paying the call charges if you aren't on the top package or can't call within your tariff, Sky also do an online chat whereby you could discuss your issues! Either that or you could quite simply ask the customer service employee that you would like an immediate call back

I'm not affiliated to Sky and I do have the same frustrations as you guys n' gals but, come on, there's always a way around such things so rather than wasting forum space moaning about them, lets just provide the information that's useful

PS: The 0800 worked for this this morning also

I just rang the 0800 number - and went through the 'security' checks of putting my 'phone number and post code in - and then the call was picked up after about 5 rings by a real person, much to my shock! I was trying to cancel our sports package, but they've just given it to me for £3 per month for next 3 months...............so will keep it after all.

Just spent 55 minutes on the phone to Sky trying to cancel contract as price increase this month is the last straw.

Very grateful to Say No to 0870 for 0800 number listed here too. Ironically they listed it in their forums rather than in their listings where there are loads of Sky numbers which go to the switchboard.

Double result was that Sky reduced my price!

Tried and says something along the lines of "sky talk time is restricted and to reinstate it press 1".

I have top unlimited broadband and sky multi-room in 3 rooms and feel I should not have to pay more to call them. I am asking everyone to complain to OFCOM as I have been told they are looking into this as takes far too long to get through and you can be kept on hold for 90+ minutes yet their choice to offer quick replies to the people who have phone service with them due to the fact that as these service phone numbers have to be paid for and they have to pay for the customers who get it inclusive and the rest of us as it is costing sky nothing they are more than willing to leave us hanging.

It wouldn’t be so bad if Sky didn’t put you in a queue for 15 minutes, take all details and put you on hold for 10 minutes before cutting you off. This must be deliberate because it happens frequently. See helpforum.sky.com/t5/Using-Sky-com-Sky-Online/Disgraceful-Service/td-p/17383
Make a nuisance of yourself on the forum and you will get a call from their technical help!!
