ripped off by tescos

  • I've bought items from Tescos before now, (admittedly they've been taken back long before the OP's) but I've had credit notes or exchanges given without production of a reciept - I'd think it's because it was so long ago that they're baulking about it.
  • I see that some of you take issue with me about me useing the term "rip off" . I have a tesco product that has been sold for less than a year, I have the box it came in with the tape that they put around it to prove that it's been paid for. the item appeared on my clubcard and this is information that they do keep to target me with offers. for them to attempt such a cheap mean minded policy of refusing to accept responsability for their own faulty goods is a rip off.
On a happier note, after an exhaustive search through the attic the reciept has been found. can anybody tell me if I can demand a full refund now? because there is not a snowball in hells chance of me ever spending my money with tescos again. I live in the south hams, I did consider starting a new group called South Hams Against Tesco but I think the name needs a little work

I work for them and you are bang on with the name lol

there is an electrical helpline that you should ring 9 times out of ten they tell you to return it to the store anyway for refund or replacement so if you a bold enough just take it back and tell them you rang the helpline and thats what they said - you should get it resolved then - this of course depends on the hormone situation, time of day, which way the wind is blowing mood of the duty manager :D

i think personally everybody is looking at the wrong side of things

tesco can impose whatever requirements for proof of purchase they want for the guarantee.

they dont have to do anything for you op

you are however protected by soga

but i shan't bother explaining because you will still and up with naff all for buying such a cheap piece of rubbish. give up op, spend a little more on a decent brand with a good warranty on a credit card!

oh and id also go as far to say your statement of saying tesco are ripping you off is libel and you should remove it at once before it gets you in trouble. they are not ripping you off, so you cannot claim they are in your title without being libelous
    Back by no demand whatsoever.
