Morning all:wave:
Hoping for a nice peaceful day to myself. Dd is back at school today and seems much better.
I shall be baking bread this morning. I've just ordered myself a pullman bread tin. It's a tin with a flat lid which should enable me to bake square sandwich loaves with a thin crust.
I'm also going to get a batch of yogurt on the go.
Breakfast was porridge with grated apple, almonds, cinnamon and honey.
Lunchboxes have ham sandwiches, seeded flapjacks, grapes and tomatoes.
I shall have cauliflower and cheese soup and some fruit.
Supper will be baked potatoes, watercress, grated carrot, tomato and onion salad and smoked mackerel.
Have a productive day everyone

morning all!
didn't get time to read or post yesterday but I've got 2 days off now:j
I went to the docs yesterday and complained about the lack of information form the hospital about my biopsy and colposcopy - she's going to look into it as she hasn't heard anything either. She also gave me a flu jab while I was there - my arm is very sore and stiff this morning.
Plans for today - I'm hoping DH says we can go and visit DS1 in his new flat - he's bound to need his dad's help with the DIY.
Tea for me is quorn bolognaise (from the freezer) not sure about the others yet.
Redruby - how nice for your DH to take the wet side of the duvet!:Twhat a gentleman he is!
Diva - glad normal service has been resumed!:j
Aussie and Haribo - glad you're both here too!:j
PP - hope you're feeling ok x
Nordicat - hope the christmas shopping trip goes well!
I watched I'm a celebrity last night - hope it doesn't turn into the Katie Price Show:rolleyes::mad: I'm a big fan of Kim Woodburn - she's fab!:D and the chef Gino is rather tasty imho;):D
Have a great day folks x
edited to say Happy Birthday sistercas
Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Morning All :hello:,
MSD - good to have you back! Glad to hear Tris is communicating.
Molly - so sorry to hear about your DD. No words of advice, just a ((hug))
Bitsy - love your smilies! They've made me chuckle today particularly the banana
Nordictat - I work in Croydon! Can't believe you're actually choosing to come here:eek: :rotfl: I used to live here too up until a couple of weeks back! Must admit, the shops are ok though
Not masses of OSiness to report, except I managed to buy my kilner jars on Saturday for my homemade Christmas pressies! I know all the ladies will be dead chuffed with what I'm giving them, just need to think of a reasonable alternative for the men!
Got a refund from TV licensing today as we're covered by the license at my parents. Just waiting for the one from the council now, they've already delayed it twice after we wrote to them asking for the refund they wrote back saying "please fill out this form to claim your refund" and also saying that they "didn't realise we had a joint account therefore they can't make a cheque out to DH alone..." Funny that - all I'm hearing is excuses  I wouldn't mind but it's £130!!!
Tea tonight is spaghetti bolognese with leftovers for lunch tomorrow.
Have a good day OS or not. Hugs to all in need or want xx
ETA - Taplady I totally agree about Gino

Good morning everyone.
Diva It's great to have you back
and I'm pleased that you have another way of being in touch with Tris.
Sistercas
Hope you have a good one!
Molly Not any advice here but wanted to say that you're being thought about & your daughter too xxx
Not much happening here apart from the usual round of washing, drying, hoovering and making of meals. Dinner this evening is sausage casserole, mash & peas which I shall get in the slow cooker shortly. Lunch will be a sandwich, chopped peppers & a slice of weetabix cake
Getting ready for tomorrow's big move of MIL into her care home too. Have a good day all & I'll catch up with you all later xxx0 -
Morning all!
Rubbish night last night, work, then discovered a friend has told a few fibs which is a bit of a betrayal, and then to top it all went to Asda to grab some bits for dd2's cookery exam and left half of them there!
Fingers crossed that today is a whole lot better! Though not a good start, need to whizz bits over to dd2's school once I've bought them again, and then have a solicitor's appointment. Then need to talk to oh about some stuff which I doubt will be fun and then try to sort out windows 7 on pooter then back to work! Actually I might just get back into bed and hide under the duvet lol!
OS stuff will be taking a back seat today, which is a pain as I really wanted to make ninjabread men!
Lunches: cheese sarnies, hm choc muffins, carrot sticks, apples
Dinner: something with chicken as I have some chicken breasts in the fridge and I can't find my meal plan again - must start posting it on the meal plan thread then I wouldn't be able to lose it!
Happy birthday sistercas, hope you have a fantastic day! xx
Hugs to all who need them xxGC Oct £387.69/£400, GC Nov £312.58/£400, GC Dec £111.87/£4000 -
Just a quickie for now:
flutterbyuk25 - maybe mention the parking issue to your landlords or agents? They could then send a general letter to ALL occupiers, rather than you selecting the culprits

Thanks Taplady
I will surely try to as my trip to Dublin was a bust due to me getting so ill.
lowesy...well, I only have a day (can't afford to miss too much work heh) to shop and I'm flying into Gatwick which is only a 15 min train ride from Croydon. The Whitgift and Centrale hit all the boxes for the kinda stuff I'm christmas shopping for so no need to get even more stressed by going into London city centre!
I'll also squeeze in a haircut....my first time in a salon in years! My husband usually clips the ends and that's it but lately it's been looking pretty bad at the ends so I think it's time to let a professional do it so inbetween the shopping and surely a well needed foot rest..I'll get my hair done. Had a bad experience with a hair stylist yrs ago that butchered my hair thus why it's been so long.

Morning everyone :hello:
Happy Birthday Sistercas:bdaycake:
Hope your daughter gets the help she needs Molly. x
Aussie...Hope you and OH are making up for lost time.
Lovely to see your post last night Churchie
Good to see you back Diva.
How did your Ds's move go Taplady?
Hope your bits are better soon Sunnygirl.
(actually I don't think I will kiss it better_pale_)
Hope today is a better one Mummysaver. x
It's lovely and dry here redpooby.
Have a fun trip Nordictat.
Glad DD is better Thrifty.
I'm supposed to be officing today but OH isn't up yet and I'm not going in myself so have set up my work in the study here instead. Don't appear to have started yet though.
OS wise I want to do a litle baking and make the pea and ham soup for tonight as we have parents' night for both girls. Will also get ahead by doing tommorrow's shepherd's pie with the leftover roast from Sunday as we have a busy night tommorrow as well.
Need to update my Christmas spreadsheet and buy some more brandy so soak the remaining sloes and bullaces from the freezer.
Brekkie was crumpet (and no, I'm not referring to OH still being in bed
) and lunch will be cheese and HM chutney sarnies.
Have lovely days everyone.
Haribo x0 -
Haribo - thanks for asking about DSs move! they moved in yesterday, finishing rather late. They are both so excited about it. A friend at work gave them a set of designer 'chef' saucepans and a griddle pan which was lovely of her. The next thing we've got to get them is curtains and more kitchen stuff but till I've been I'm not sure what they need. We were talking at work about the places we first lived in and how little we'd got. Young people nowadays seem to start with so much stuff.Do what you love :happyhear0

Morning all. Bad start. Walked down with a handful of washing, went into utility room to put next to the wm. There's a manky wet yellow dishcloth I put there yesterday to go in the wash. And lots of bits of yellow fibre next to it. Further 'evidence' tells me there is a Mouse in the House. Where does one get a mouse trap?
half the floor looks good that I scrubbed and sealed yesterday so will try and get the other half of the dining area done today. Will do the sitting area over the next weeks. The sealant doesn't half stink.
FOund a chorizo needed using by beginning of dec, so going to do the chicken basque delia recipe, has peppers in too (have some need using in the fridge I was wondering about and also only one chicken breast, but I think they prefer the chorizo any way. Might have a pork slice in the freezer. Got some ys sundried toms in the freezer some time ago as well.
Just got tomatoes really that using up then. If I don't do that soon they'll be 'off'.
Need to try and do some flylady as well. I made a start yesterday, but was pooped after floor scrubbing and sealing!
have a good day all."Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"
