Well - I did it - have reached £10995 paid off this year - challenge complete and still 2 months to go. I have a big loan that now only has 8 payments left so by next July will be nearly 400 per month better off and can really start hammering the credit cards down.

    Onwards and upwards

    Well done! :T

It's pay day so I've just made a few payments:

    £200 to in-laws, £115 to Barclaycard2, £100 to Barclaycard1, £80 to HSBC.

This is the month I will clear Virgin so another one gone. Just got to wait for the statement to arrive which will be around the 6th Dec...

Unfortunately my spending might be a little over budget this month - I seem to have developed a social life for the next 3 weeks. I wanted to pay £200 off Barclaycard but with all my planned evenings out I've decided to hold off £100 and pay it if I have it next pay day. In the grand scheme of things it doesn't push back my DFD so I'm not too worried.

Roll on 6th Dec and the end of Virgin....

  • Hi guys,

£300 added to my total this month, taking me to my target!! (Albeit reduced target due to returning to studentdom...)

Am very pleased, I wanted to save more this month but my budget has been a little off. I am having a frugal beginning of December to offset Christmas.

HOpe everyone is well and can post some positive payday updates! :T
  • Congrats everyone on tremendous progress. £1,360 to add to savings this month :D

    I AM BACK!!!!!!!!

Apologies for dropping off. Had an nightmale summer with the Wife being uber ill. [With her off work, we have been stretched very thin and as a result have racked up a little more debt, but still managed to pay a good bit towards the challenge.

My sig won't update for some reason so her it is:

TOTAL DEBT AT LBM(DEC'07); £23494.38 stop going up:mad:
    OUTSTANDING TOTAL; £3535.04 @ 01/11/10 85%PAID
DEBT FREE TARGET: OCT 2010 Maybe not, but soon I hope!

    Debt 5464.96/9000 Saved 4450.72/1000 99%

The largest debt being the Loan, for a smidge over three G now is becoming consigned to these forum archives as another debt busted on Tuesday, when I take the dreaded trip to the bank (branch in question is more like the comedy club). This will more or less wipe out my cash reserves but well worth it.

Overdrafts are finally closed after 18 months of trying to close them. In the end I had to raise a customer complaint after repeated phonecalls and trips into the branch. They also compensated me with £30 for the trouble. So now I have the bank paying me to be a customer! Love it!!!

I have started to go through the thread to update totals etc. hopefully be done in the next few days and I will provide a big update but for now...

Thus far as a team we have acheived.....

    £262203.94
51 of 127 people left in challange.
    Total Paid:£262,203.94
    People updated:51
    Average each:£5,141.25
    Target total:£495,637.72
    Overall % achieved:52.9%
    Monthly target £:£41,303.14
    Monthly Actual ££21,850.33

It's good to see so many of the team doing so well at this. Well Done :T

Good to see you back Shadydaz! :D Love to read those figures.

Have updated my signature below, following this months payments. :j

Doubt it'll change before the end of the year as there are still plenty of presents to be purchased but you never know.

Keep it up everyone, can't believe we've stuck it out a whole year. Well done no matter how big or small your achievements.
