  • Sorry! I meant 3 letters and 3 numbers. The website I looked at gave two links - Irish registrations and British registrations. The British link had 3 and 3 and started at around £500. Sorry about that!:D

    Do you have a link to this site that has 3 letters/3 numbers for £500, that seems very cheap to me.

    Aye, DVLA is best. You see all these private plate dealers offering plates for £99, but then when you get to the payment stage all-of-a-sudden there's an £25 admin fee, 5% card charge and £80 transfer fee ... all PLUS VAT!

    I bought a NI plate from speedy reg years ago and I think they are still going strong.

    I have the perfect personalised plate ....all I had to do was change my name to N 293 LMX...a doodle.

    That's still an NI plate. 3 letters is characteristic of NI, and can be followed by 1-4 numbers. Most common is 4 numbers though. Anything with 3 is held back and sold at a premium.

    My son also got his straight from the DVLA. It cost about £250. It was a letter, then a number, followed by 3 letters.
  • There is a bloke who lives near me has C11EAT on his silver Ferarri, which had a screw between the two 1's...
