Cold Calling Harassment by Toucan Telecom

Hope this is in the right place - please move if not...

I am being repeatedly called by people claiming to be from a company called Toucan Telecom trying to get me to change my provider from BT. They have called me up to six times in one day (on a bank holiday) and four times within a two hour period! I work from home, so this is very disruptive. They call during the day, at night, weekends, etc. I called Toucan Telecom head office and complained - they said that they would remove me from their 'sales list' but the calls have continued. I also registered with the Telephone Preference Service, but they said to allow 30 days to update their lists; before I can make an official complaint. If I dial 1471 it justs says we do not have the callers number (I think they may be calling from another country) so I cannot use call blocking and myself and my flatmate both have family overseas so do not want to block all overseas calls. I keep telling them NOT to call me again but they still do - is there anything else I can do to get rid of these idiots?

i have also been cold-called on coupla occasions

the salesman told me he was calling from israel !

I didn't want to know & when i asked him to remove my number [i'm also on TPS&FPS] he said he couldn't.
He then asked me if i wanted to be a salesman for his company

its what's called chutzpa methinks!

I work from home and have also had the same problem with Toucan Telecom. I emailed the contacts on the complaints page:

No response yet. And aren't the sales people rude!? "Yes, Sir, but I don't understand why you don't want to save 60% ... blah ... blah..."

Can you not get the withheld number block put on? i had it for a while and anyone who witholds there number or is calling from behind a switchboard doesnt get through, only downside for me is the kids school couldnt phone house direct they had to call my mobile.

Yes, I've been pestered by Toucan; I invite them to call me again when they can beat the TalkTalk/Call18866 package, this usually results in the sales minion summoning a manager.

I claim a small but significant victory when the sales manager hangs up in disgust ;D ;D

Yes, I had the same call many times form Toucan telecom. After telling them many times that I use the cheapest phone calls available (18866) and I want be removed from their database, they keep trying to sell me their broadband internet for 24 quid instead What a piece of crap this company is. And of course, their call centre is in India or somwhere in Asia

Just to let you all know that I've emailed BBC Watchdog about this issue. No response yet, but I would urge anyone with this problem to do the same so that they might look into and bust the rotten lot!

Please dont believe all this,all this a bunch of lies.
Some other Telecom company is framing Toucan.Because Toucan has just recieved 5 stars from Uswitch.com so it doesnt need to harass people to get more customer.All this is entirely false and bogus
