Wow some of you have had such productive days!
Me I chased the kids about and stuffed my face with a lovely profiterol dessert at the family get-together. I didn't really get chance to speak to much of H's family as the kids were too busy off exploring the community centre but it was nice to have a brief hello and handshake to some of the people I've seen on Facebook
H is at the hospital at the moment. His dad has been knocked off his bike. Again. You'd have thought he'd have learnt from his last accident to wear bright clothing, loads of lights and wear a helmet but no. Still no helment and such cheapy rubbish lights which are less than useless  He's got lacerations to the back of his head so assume he'll be kept in overnight for obs. Grrrrrr I am so cross that he refuses to listen to me and H when we keep nagging him about his helmet. He reckons as he rides on the pavement he's OK - apart from the fact that he doesn't ride all the time on the pavement  what difference does it make? He's wearing all black clothing in the dark - anyone reversing off their drive would have no chance of seeing him.
Sorry that was a bit ranty. Am just so cross that he refuses to take care of himself properly.
Pleasant evening everyone.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Maybe a chat from his local beat bobby or PCSO might be listened to a bit more than his relatives? Or how about confiscating his bike?! It worked for DS2 a while ago

Bitsy - hope your FIL is ok. I have to say I dont agree with riding on the pavement as its not safe for him or other people - Floss's idea about someone like a PCSO talking to him might help.:TDo what you love :happyhear0

He's going for a CT scan and is on a spinal board at the moment.
I don't think he was on the pavement when he was knocked off - no details really on how the accident happened, he can't remember a thing. He is saying he's not going back on the bike, I think we as a family will push that aspect (failing that I will be asking for local bobby to have a word or stealing his bike
). The accident may not be his fault (my SIL is the one who alerted us as she recognised his name when she heard it via the police radio and I think is going to see what she can find out for us) but I am cross that he does make life harder for other road users by not
Am glad he's OK though - lets see if he'll use ring and ride in the future (it's not as if he can't afford it!).I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

Just popping in for a quick hello and warm gentle ((((((Hugs)))))))) to anyone who wants/needs them.
Doing ok here, just seems like there aren't enough hours in the days anymore. And I don't have the reason of working outside the home, children at home etc etc etc. Just stuck in slow motion I think.
I've missed seeing you all and hearing how your lives are going. Hope to get back into the swing of things soon.
Peyton xxTake the first step.
Even if you cannot see the whole staircase,
Just take the first step.
