That was a stroke of luck Hester! mmm lamb for lunch! We're having lasagne today, made with some rather aged bolognese from the freezer. Scrambled egg and hm bread for lunch.
I went to Aldi this morning to get essentials, but ended up with some more veg, as I want to get some soups made for entertaining the morris dancing crew next month. Going to try and get all that prepped this afternoon and tidy the fridge out as well.
Then I want to refine my plan for meals till Christmas to avoid buying a load more stuff that I can manage without and use up some of the stuff we have. Looking good on paper, but will I be able to resist getting more stuff for Christmas baking?"Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Afternoon all,
Just put on a wash which I will distribute around the house to dry...just also had phone call from elderly cousin who is coming to visit in a bit, good that I have some weetabix cake to offer with tea as haven't baked for ages.
Cold here to-day, Kerry is lying beside me sleeping, her 'cousin' Mossie was here this morning with DD3 so she is exhausted from chasing him round the place, he is full grown and much bigger so it is an effort!
Pork chop, potatoes and leeks for OH for dinner, am still wondering what to take from freezer for me, really need to get all the bits used up.
Hugs to all in need or want and to all who are ill

Afternoon All
I seem to have fell off the OS wagon a little this week and its annoying me as we have had takeaway a few times, my kitchen needs digging out and i'm just going round in circles with the washing, my hip has been very painful this week and i'm coming up to that time of the month and....i'm sure there's lots more but that's me done now:o
So I think the motto for the next week should be organise and motivate and maybe if I do that the rest will follow!
DH and I are out tonight at the cinema (MS job) and when we were talking about it its three years since we were last at the pictures! I'm picking DS1 up form work at 7pm and he is going to babysit (kids will be in bed before we go out) so it will be nice to spend some time just me and DH as we get very little to zero time with nobody else around and its such a treat!
I think our doctors has a late surgery on Tuesday so I might see if I can get an appointment as I've been talking the tablets for about 4 or 5 weeks and my hip is worse - I also slipped in the supermarket last Sunday which was enough to aggravate it further and I'm fed up of it hurting and of losing sleep and being grumpy...did I mention its that time of the month???..... lol
Its only when I start typing I realise how irritable I sound ,,,,and breathe......I hope there's a good comedy on tonight I could do with a laugh!
Hope everyone enjoys the rest of their Sunday

, it sounds like your having a crap time of it at the mo, enjoy your time tonight x
Went to church this morning, and DD1 got invited round to a friend from the village who we met there today. Well i think i need to polish up my act
, after being there only 2 hours, she had baked a ginger cake, Made some lavender bath bombs (which are drying out in their airing cupboard), and made some xmas cards :eek: - Liking the OS content :T. Did say that she must come and play at ours, but don't know what the flip to do with them that would be anywhere near any of that
:o, a forage in the woods maybe
.
Roast chicken cooked kids have eaten, me and dh will eat when it's quite later
, mind you don;t fancy it anymore, i think i might plump for the chocalate trifle instead
- no i'm being serious
Hope you've enjoyed your days xxYou know your getting old when yougo to the pub sit outsideand admire the hanging basket

Well, I had to come on and tell about my productive afternoon. Have done:
- Big pot of veg in stock for the freezer for a main course soup for next weekend. Have lamb stock with meaty bits in the freezer to add.
- Have made a load of carrots and onions into the base for carrot and coriander (Linda Snell's dil is called Coriander...what's that about?) soup for Morris dancers lunch in Dec.
- Have made a veg base for Economy gastronomy book Salmon Chowder for same event. Stinky salmon stock residing in freezer ready.
- Made big lasagne for tea. Did extra cheese sauce so now have a couple of 1/2 pt pots for the freezer for Mac cheese or cauli cheese one day before then, a cheapy!
- Checked over lemons from freezer and selected some to grate and squeeze. These will be all ready for a big lemon meringue pie (10"!) in the holidays when the family is here. Decided I'm gonna make life easy and do one big pud and no choices. Anyone that doesn't want it can have a piece of fruit or investigate their chocolate stash!
I was determined to get on top of the veg that was a) in the fridge/freezer and b) that fell in my basket at Aldi today.
I still need to prep the leeks and get them in the freezer. If it sounds like a lot of soup, then I'd better say that there will probably be about 20 of us here.
They have a Xmas event at the park up the road and do 3 sessions of 20 minutes each. Traditionally they all come here for lunch. I do soup, homemade bread and cake. MIL will make me some mincepies. I'm going to make things that use what I have in the baking drawer and double up some items for when the family visit at Christmas and for packed lunches. I will also try not to eat too much of it as well, though I must confess that some of the banana and date loaf did find me last night.
I must list what I have made and incorporate it into the plan.
have a lovely evening everyone. I have my dh here for last evening before his 5 day stint away
. Early morning tomorrow and I have the physio to contend with as well:rolleyes: "Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

Don't worry, it won't happen every day, was just on a bit of a roll and determined to have the contents of the fridge organised so nothing got wasted.
Feeling a bit pooped now though! "Knowledge is knowing that a tomato is a fruit. Wisdom is not putting it in a fruit salad"

evening all!
nothing very exciting to report here - been doing a 10 hour shift at work today and just had tea and tidied up ready for Xfactor and I'm a celebrity.
another long shift tomorrow then I'm off to the docs - got a small list of things I want to mention:D plus want to moan about lack of a letter from my consultant with my biopsy and colposcopy results(all I got was yet another colposcopy appointment next year with no explanations:rolleyes::mad:)I'm hoping my lovely GP will tell me whats going on.
DS1 and his partner have visited and collected all the things we bought for thier flat - they are very pleased and appreciative. Hopefully we'll visit them in the week.
DS2 has been waiting this afternoon:T - at the local hotel.
(((hugs))) to the poorly ones
Diva - hope you get the virus sorted soon and that Tris is on the mend x
