OS Daily Thread Sunday 15th November

Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Sunday15th November. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.
Morning everyone.
Wow I can't remember the last time I started the thread :rotfl:
Where is everyone? It's seems to have been really quiet the last few days.....
Anyway I can see a tiny bit of blue sky so really not sure what the weather has planned today.
Off to a family "do" for 1pm today so that's basically the day done and dusted for me then :rotfl:
House needs a good clean after all the DIY and there is more washing to get through. Will have to do what I can before we need to leave.
Have no idea what's for tea tonight as I don't know what time we'll be back from the get together.
So very little OS from me
You lot will have to pick up the slack

Have a good day OS or not.

Good morning
I was hoping someone would start the thread as I have no idea how lol.
I hope everyone is feeling a lot better today and that you haven't all been swept away by the horrid weather!! It's been horrendous here, the bedroom is up in the eaves of the house and it sounds like the roof is going to cave in any minute!!
Well I really need to clean through the house, write a meal plan and make green tomato chutney, oh and put the WM on and iron my uniform..... hmmm list is getting bigger by the second!
Hope you all have good days and wrap up warm.
Hugs to everyone who needs them or just feels like having one.

Morning All
Still raining here in Essex though the winds have dropped. There are 2 largeish trees down in the field opposite my house & every where is very wet.
So methinks another day in is in order. Will potter about and hopefully get the ironing done. If DD is bored later when she surfaces will drag out some board games & light the fire.
Oooh just won £5 on free bingo & won £5 last night on the thunderball - hopefully these things come in 3's.........
Have a good one, whatever you are doing.x0 -
Morning chums well it looks like tha bad weather has kept everyone under the duvets.I have to pop to the shops to get some sellotape so I can get started on wrapping presents .With my small cottage, and seven very nosy grandchildren, things have to be spirited out of their probing eyes quickly.
breakfast will be porridge I think as that nice and warming before I battle across the road in the wind and rain.I am down to only 6 presents to buy and two birthday pressies so I will be very happy if I can get them all done and wrapped before the end of the month.I still have my croaky throat but am dosing myself up with medicines and the occassion hot toddy.Hope everyone wakes up and joins in <<hugs to those who are feeling down and blue and big:) to the rest of you.
Cheers JackieO x0 -
Morning all!
DD is going to grandmas shortly so I will be blitzing the house then. Upstairs isn't too bad but downstairs needs a good tidy and clean. Last lot of my weekend washing is in the TD so I will be ironing this afternoon-not too much so far.
Need to make some veg soup and nip to Mr S for a basics small gammon to cook for sandwiches. And was thinking of grating some 'past eating raw' apples into some cake mixture to make a traybake.
Have a couple of chicken breasts defrosting for tea. They are large and on the bone so I'm hoping there will benough left to go in fried rice for tuesdays tea.
We went to cinema (kids am-95 p each) and then out to lunch-not particularly nice and £17 for me and DD so need to have a frugal rest of the week.
Plan for meatballs from out of the freezer tomorrow with pasta, the fried rice tuesday and then stuff from the freezer weds and thursday. Will have a sort out and make a proper plan later.
Think I've got time to get the soup veges prepped before we go.
Hus to those that need/want one. Have a good day.July grocery- 24.40/220. NSD-1/3.

Morning everyone
Sorry to be MIA, but when I get my head into the family history research, time just flies.
OSness has been just meal preparation and "lick & promising", will do a full Chicken Dinner at tea time today, and set DH on the Bathroom/Ensuite;)
Going to pop out and see DGNeice&DGNephew later, bet they have both grown since we last saw them in September, especially DGNphw now 8 months.
Shame about Tuffers on SCD last night, but to be honest I don't think he was really that bothered.
:grouphug: Big gentle ones to all of you under par :grouphug:
Smokeybabe, Crankey all others not posting, get your bodies back in here.

Morning all
Washing, cleaning & cooking will be the the way today goes, there is a bit of blue sky showing, but I'm not sure how long it will last.
We have a half shoulder of lamb for lunch today, an unexpected treat, a friend bought it & then realised she was going away & had no room in her freezer.
Have a good day everybody, keep warm & safe.
Hugs Hester

Morning all
Has everyone else been blown away in the gales?
I had a lovely day shopping in Cardiff yesterday with my friend, despite the weather! Thankfully with the new shopping centre we only had to brave the outside a few times. I bought a sparkly top for my Xmas do for £13 and a cheap pair of UGG style boots for £12. We went looking for dresses for our friends wedding in Feb but didn't really find much we liked. I'm starting to panic now as it's only like 10weeks away and I'm away in NZ for 3 of those! But there are 3 in Debenhams I quite like (but not really really like, IYKWIM!!) so I will try those on this week before the mega event later in week so I can buy one then if I like it on. I am going to Bristol next Sat, and Birmingham at beginning of Dec so fingers crossed I'll find something! I also randomly bumped into a friend who I did Camp America with last year in middle of Cardiff, he lives there but it's such a huge place you don't expect to see people you know!
I was naughty and got a chinese yesterday on way home because weather was miserable and I was knackered. It was only £8 and I have half leftover for dinner today so not too bad.
WM has just finished so need to get that on airer. BM went on last night so just waiting for it too cool slightly before I can have some breakfast however I now fancy porridge after one of you mentioned it! I'm easily led :rotfl:
Today I am going to a tea dance for war veterans. My friend's nan has asked my friend and me to chaperone her and her friend. It's in a church hall and there is a big buffet
and there apparently will be lots of young forces men there too
So beforehand I'm going to pop to town to pick up birthday presents for my nan and a friend who have birthdays this week, and I may start my Xmas shopping. I'm also going to visit my other nan and my parents before or after tea dance, and pop to the library! So a busy day for me.
Have a great day all

Morning all,
Its dry here for the moment, it rained all day here yesterday, next doors fence came down, so OH rushed out and fixed it before it became any worse, and our sold sign has come down, but no other damage.
DD and her friend are off out with her dad today, who will drop the friend off later on. OH and I will get little dog out for a long walk later, armed with some sandwiches and a flask.
Dinner tonight will be lamb, I have 1/2 leg, with some roasties and veg. Need to change the beds, and get them washed, bin needs emptying and need to hoover.
Dr who tonight :T:T:T, and X factor results, so a nice evening planned.
Hope everyone is well, have good days all xx0
