Considering he asked exactly the same thing 6 months ago, he's certainly a trier!

I think the comments about having kids and being incapacitated are awful. I now have a permanent disability due to childbirth problems, and now have secondary problems due to this. I spent 3 months post pregnancy in intensive care whilst my baby spent 8 weeks at great ormond street. I now have the help from carers to look after my children. I have always worked full-time up until this situation!
How can you know someones full story by that post!

to be fair OP you're the one who's asking for benefit advice for benefits you've already been told by the council you're not entitled to and, as someone pointed out, theoretically you should have enough to manage. Perhaps the comments about the ages of your youngest children were put across wrongly but surely it can't be good for anyone in the house if your wife is ill with 2 wee bits of wean to look after.
  • I think that most people were merely pointing out that with £31.5k income, that there were no other benefits you can claim unless your wife is eligible for DLA.

Many people on half that are not entitled to Benefits.

I agree that maybe it could have been put more politely in some cases.

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton

You can't, but you forget that you can look at what people have posted previously to get a better picture.
  • The responses to this request are terrible. You are judging the OP when you know nothing about them and they requested advice. My advice is to put your details into www.entitledto.co.uk and see what results you get when your C Tax and rent are put in.

But we do know what their income is
