I too have given up on non stick roasting tins, having found black bits of teflon floating in my gravy (yuck!). Now I have a couple of stainless steel roasting tins which come up as good as new after a quick scrub with a spontex metal scrubber thingy. They are the best thing ever for getting roasting tins, grill pans, oven shelves etc clean. I also like Astonish oven cleaner (comes in a blue tub, lasts ages).

I soak mine in hot water and a little washing powder overnight

When you've taken the meat out of the tin, add about an inch of water and put it on the hob to boil.

I do this but add one or two drops of W/up liquid and it's easy peasy to clean......it doesn't get a chance to dry on horrid :-/ ;D

Lucie ... can you please let me know where you purchased your stainless steel roasting tins from (if you can remember ::)).  I've found one on the Internet, but it retails at £99!! Perhaps ebay would be a good bet ???

I don't remember ever having seen any of these, but I do have a set of stainless steel saucepans, which are great.

    Thanks.

Most of my roasting tins and baking sheets are Progress vitreous enamel like THESE. (They sell them in Savacentre)

I like them cos you can scrub them with brillo type pads and they keep in good nick for years 8)
Same old same old since 2008

I don't think that they're stainless steel but I've seen those heavy duty roasters in Ikea (the type Jamie Oliver uses with handles either side).
Just run, run and keep on running!

    Ikea, says it's stainless steel £6 :o for the small one (26 x 20) £12 for the big one (41 x 32)
When life hands you a lemon, make sure you ask for tequilla and salt ;)

Mine are Ikea ones. I've got 2 little ones (fit side by side on a shelf), but am planning to get a big one next time I go to Ikea. They really are pretty good for 6-7 quid.
