Best time to come to the post office when sending many parcels?

This has probably been discussed before, but I can't find anywhere. Basically have just sent 11 parcels and post ofice lady and people behind seemed quite annoyed with me for holding up the queue:( I felt guilty myself, but what could I do? 11 items sold yesterday, payments received, I can't just go to the PO with one parcel at a time can I.
I remember somebody once mentioning 12.30 to 2.30 time, is that PO busiest time or opposite(best time to come with many parcels?)
Thank you

don't feel guilty, you are keeping the PO lady in a job and giving the people queuing something to grumle about, which surely is what the great british publing do best when standing in a queueWiggly:heartpulsFB0

1) Don't feel guilty. You're a customer. My PO welcomes me as she knows I'll come back to her time and again.
2) I find 2.15-3pm the best time to go to my local-when I've asked before about best times, she said Mondays and Fridays are always busy and there are no good times to go those days, so just turn up whenever.
If you have the opportunity, find another PO where you are welcomed for the income you'll bring.Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Sorry don't know, with the POs around here it seems to vary...
...but just wanted to say I cannot really understand why people get fed up with ebayers- IME around here it seems the ebay sellers are 80% of the POs business...
I was sending my mums parcels one day and the PO guy was being really slow and the queue was building so after he had done 5 or 6 I said 'I'll just pay for these, you can serve these other people, then I'll put the rest through' ...well the way they were all tutting I thought they just wanted a stamp each or something! I ended up waiting another 15 minutes and none of them said thankyou!We cannot change anything unless we accept it. Condemnation does not liberate, it oppresses. Carl Jung

As much as it is fun to go when there is a huge queue of tutting pensioners and chavs waiting to be "paid" so they can get their lottery scratchcards, I tend to drop my parcels off before lunch, then go back before they close to settle the bill. It means they can process them at their own pace between other customers.
I guess it is better to do this at the smaller local offices than the larger ones though!<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
I once went with three bags of parcels and waited till there was no queue, I kept letting people in front of me but no-one thanked me.
I don't use that PO anymore though, not since he made me queue up for something even though my friend had already queued for me (I can't stand for long periods).Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -

yeah I drop off on a monday and pay just before closing, other days I just go in whenever.
no time is suitable for my postmistress;
the morning is is too busy with schoolkids, same at 3-4pm,
the elderly crowd from the village throughout the day,
lunchtime when she has her deliveries,
it's closed between 1-2pm and so not happy if you turn from 12.30pm onwards as wants to balance,
early morning and early evening when she has to get the newspapers ready,
4.30 - 5pm as trying to cut off for the post delivery
middle to end of month when the car tax is due blah blah blah
but if you can find any other time - you'll be welcomed with open arms!:rotfl:
I have been using the same post office for the last 2 years and am in there every day, except mine and bank holidays.
It never ceases to amaze me how peed off the postmistress is when she sees my face at the counter;
this is the same post office that was in danger of being closed down last year!0 -

My local does this too-but I get cross after I've queued with those who dropped their parcels in earlier, going straight up to the desk in order that they can be served next.
Woman behind the desk is happy to accept them this way, but gets my goat!Who made hogs and dogs and frogs?

Thanks for your input.
I know I shouldn't feel guilty, it's PO at the end of the day and it's what it's primarily for-sending parcels, but some people do make you feel uneasy don't they. Sighing and shuffling and PO lady looking over my shoulder telling me "it's quite a busy time you chose".
It's only a little PO though, and while they have 3 serving points available only one ever gets actually served. City centre has a large one-but that's extra for the bust tickets or parking etc.
stevew8975, it's a good suggestion about dropping the parcels and paying later but I believe only good when sending something constantly and being known at the PO. I don't need to send stuff every day but when do it's 10-15 parcels straight away..0 -
Its funny how the counter staff do not appreciate that you may be keeping them in employment. I pointed that out once to one of my smaller post offices I use, after that they were fine.0

i spent months feeling guilty and letting people go in front of me, but not one of them ever appreciated - so now they can wait.
You have jsut as much right as them to use the facilities of the post office0
