PCN-UK Ltd. Who they trying to kid?

Hi all,

Thought you might want a little chuckle at this joke of a company that's started up this year. According to companies house, it was registered in August this year and is probably run in a flat above a chip shop with two desks with name cards written in crayon with "Dept collector"(sic) and "Solicitor" on them.

The company concerned is http://www.pcn-uk.co.uk/ The site looks like it's been written by a 13 year old. A friend of mine received a piece of printed toilet paper on her (or his :p ) windscreen and after thinking the matter was forgotten after 2 months, the following letter was received:

How many holes can you all pick in this begging letter? I can see several. Details have been removed to protect my friend's privacy, but the large black squares in the middle contained a google map (or similar) of the parking location and a poor quality black and white photograph of the rear of the car, showing the number plate, but no occupants or surroundings.

For a start I like this:-

Our company is one of the leading companies that specialise in issuing Parking Charge Notices for private land owners and to local councils.

According to that they issue PCNs to councils!

    This is completely illegal:-

The action we generally take to recover any balance is usually as below

Step 1, we send a reminder letter then a final reminder notice.

Step 2, Visit the address of the registered keeper to hand them any further notices, collect the balance and to look for goods to seize.

Step 3, if payment isn’t received then we would normally seize the vehicle or seize the keeper’s personal property.

Step 4, If the keeper has no real value in property then we will issue them with a court summons to attend court. There can be many outcomes from this step.

As they are just debt collectors they cannot seize goods. That is out and out theft.

    I also like this:-

The Appeals Review Committee is then able to treat everyone in a like manner.

I imagine the "Committee" are the two blokes who run the outfit.

    And finally:-

We understand your frustration in receiving a PCN. Unfortunately you was parked illegally and there was warning signs clearly visible from where you parked about the consequences about parking there.

Apart from the bad English ("was" instead of "were") the use of the term "illegally" is completly wrong as no law has been broken.

    What a bunch of clowns!

Court beckons them. A litany of transgressions.
    These people deserve custodial measures.

This is such example that should give Trading Standards no trouble at all in compiling a comprehensive case. They should consider the Proceeds of Crime Act.

The muppets can't even spell their address ('Fileds' House instead of Fields!) and apparently Bridgend has now moved into England...:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    :T pmsl

(fairly horrified about their plans to illegally clamp/seize a vehicle if it parks on their manor again though...)
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This company reminds me of a certain Southend-based outfit selling mobile-phones that was heavily featured on this forum. There are many similarities. Poor English and grammar, head office in one town and the company registered in another, no understanding of the law and finally a very similar threat if you "abuse" the people who run the company:-

"Any Abuse on this website will result in your IP address being passed onto the police and you will soon receive a visit from your local police. We prosecute anyone abusing our systems or staff."

Exactly my thoughts, you just beat me to it. Same sort of threatening behavior. .I wonder if they buy their clamps off ebay as well? Just noticed it can't be them as there's no laptop/clamp competition:beer:

  • If you were selling tele's and applied the same amount of lies, 1/2 truths, misleading information and downright threats as on his site you would be closed down by trading standards.

  • When you click on payment, it takes you to the paypal payment page and it looks like you would be paying a company called 'Vibe Leisure LTD'

One look at the vibe leisure ltd website; vibeleisure (dot) co (dot) uk and you can tell its the same bunch of jokers that made the other website.

On their horrible lookig website they even give you the option to click ignore a penalty charge after which a warning comes up saying 'you have chosen to ignore' haha what a bunch of jokers.
I shall post their website on facebook so my mates can have a laugh too.
A good advice is worth considering & researching
  • I had to come back and post again after a mate of mine spotted the following ridiculous warning on their website:

"Any Abuse on this website will result in your IP address being passed onto the police and you will soon receive a visit from your local police. We prosecute anyone abusing our systems or staff."

That's a good idea. The more we can spread the word about this scam company the better. Both this forum and the one on Pepipoo now feature right at the top of Google.
