Evening All
Been busy sorting out some Boots orders to get the extra points, two different orders, one for DH and one for me;) Finishes at the end of today.
Went to Aldi and Lidl this morning so now stocked back up. Called at Wickes as DH wanted another shelving unit for the garage:rolleyes:.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
Evening everyone
Not posted for a couple of days, been short staffed at work and have ended up bringing work home and finishing late. Feeling a bit under the weather as though I am getting a cold but I'm trying to fight it off with Vit C.
Managed to make some weetibix cake last night to replenish my stocks. Also last night had my 1st attempt at omlettes for years and they turned out great unlike my previous attempts that were just like scambled egg gone wrong. Tea tonight was crispy duck with pancakes made by the catering students at the college I work at, it is offered to staff to buy, was proper pancakes and have eaten too much as it was just delicious.
WM on and going to get ready for work tomorrow. Enjoy the rest of your evening everyone. Hugs to anyone who needs or wants one.

Evening All
Not been around much last couple of days - still been feeling under the weather (though lots better today :j) and felt very low & today had laptop in the PC shop to put more memory in - its back now and is so fast - didnt actually realise how slow it had become.
Sun has been shining today which I think has helped to improve my mood, been to Makro to stock up on a couple of bits, treated the kids to McD's after school which is in Asda & got a few of their bargains including 1 litre of Bailey's for Xmas.
Didnt get anything done this week which I had planned but really want to get 100% better first before I push myself.
Elona - look after yourself & get better soon.
Sunflower, I took DD to see This Is It last weekend - very sad. We were due to see MJ in Jan & what a show it would have been!
(((hugs))) wherever needed.

I had double pneumonia too about 7 years ago and remember well the oxygen mask and tummy injections! It took some getting over so you make sure you take all the pampering you can and dont do too much too soon. x
I've had a nice afternoon shopping for DS1s new flat - got him a toaster, kettle, cutlery, crockery, glasses, kitchen equipment, mugs, cleaning stuff and also treated myself to some new bedding in the sale.
The dogs are very comfy on their 'new' freecycled sleeping bag:D
Got quite a few little jobs to do tomorrow as I'm working all weekend again so not much time to do anything then.
I'm going to put my feet up now and watch a bit of tv before soaking in a nice bubbly bath.Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Hi Guys!
Thanks for all the lovely messages and PM's....you know who you are:iloveyou:
Today has been a very emotional day as we found out that FIL has approx 3-6 months to live with painful bone cancer. He has been fighting but the chemo and other drugs arent slowing it down. He is early 70's, so not that old. OH is quite upset as he is quite close with his dad although we dont have much contact due to his mum. I have asked OH to try to make an effort as he will have a terrible guilty conscience otherwise and he will just have to ignore his mum as its his dad that needs him. I also have another family member in palitive (sp) care atm and its any day basically. I am not a very teary (sp) person but the last couple of weeks has been so up and down and I think I am all cried out. Trying to keep positive for people and offering words of support when you're really ill is very difficult.
On a brighter note, I have been told that I qualify for help towards a wig as Ive lost a certain percentage of my hair. There are leaflets being sent out.....but knowing my luck, the ones on the NHS will make me look like some hooker called Cherry:D
OH & I had free tickets to see Fourth Kind yesterday, so went after hospital visit and extra morphine. We took a flask, hot water bottle and extra jumper and snuggled next to OH as I wasnt feeling great but glad we got out as it was a brilliant but scary film. The filming and how it was directed was great and hadnt seen anything like it before. It took my mind off everything for 90 mins, so that was worth it.
DD is away tomorrow night till late Saturday, so OH & I will try and do something different but dont think Im well enough to go out.
On an OS note, there has been 2 washloads done but dried in the TD and the cleaner has been today, so everything clean and sparkly.
Anyway, I am rambling but just wanted you to know that I am still here and reading.
Hugs to everyone in need.

Hi chums ,had a great day, but am now worn out.Bought lots of stuff and didn't spend a fortune which is even better.Even managed to buy three annuals for my three youngest DGS's at 3.99 each,2 footie ones and a WWF one, brilliant as they were half price. lots of little bits and pieces to go into my two DGD's christmas carrier bags, so lots of wrapping up to do tomorrow.I'm off to bed no as I have to be up early again in the morning as one DGD is arriving at 7.45 for breakfast before going to the local primary school on her college placement then I have to do the school run with the three youngest boys , and in the afternoon I have college for History and a youth club drop off at 6.30.tomorrow night for another DGS.My little legs are fairly flying this week.
Night all,
JackieO xx
P.S. was I dreaming or was there a post on here about mini Christmas cakes baked in a bean tin at one time ??
P.P.S to the lady who asked about the charity I knit for its The Linus Project which provides knitted blankets for deprived children to all four corners of the world.Brilliant charity as I know its stuff is sent directly to where its needed most.I have seven warm and well-fed grandchildren and these blankets go to children who have absolutely nothing of their own, apart sometimes from the clothes on their backs0 -

lovely to see you posting, and the above really made me laugh, you do know we will want to see pics of cherry the hooker don't you? lol
I think I should really post on the confessions thread rather than the daily as I seem to be very lacking in the OS department. I even got a ready meal tonight as OH is away and I really fancied a curry....in my defence I got a ready meal from the co op rather than getting a takeaway....I walk through the town on the way back from work and have noticed just how many Indian takeaways we have, the smell is yummmmmmmmmmmmmm.
My os for today was I did make twinks at 6 this morning (for the second week running) and have passed the recipe on,. actually have passed the recipe on loads of times, but only I seem to make them!
Apart from that, errrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
Am getting used to OH being away all week again, I had 4 years where he did, then last 2 years it was guess if he is coming home I'm still not sure if I am coming or going, thank god for the freezer
I do read every day even though I don't post often....so would like to send
to all those who are in need and to anyone who would just like one
cyas soon.....well look forward to reading your posts, you know what I mean lolwhoever said laughter was the best medicine has clearly never tasted wine

Gentle hug to pennyPincher- how is your rendition of "Big Spender?";)

It is nice to hear of someone else having had something similar if you know what I mean. Family are insisting I rest and I am taking them up on it.
Managed to order a really nice pair of La Senza pjs for dd(15) last night but had pay a fortune for quick delivery- eek!
Anything that can't be done on the laptop or slowly and carefully by me at home is just not going to get done.
Will have to psyche myself up to going to the Warfarin clinic on Monday morning but DH will drive me there and back."This site is addictive!"
