Thanks everyone for the good wishes.

I am in bed now and resting and just being able to breathe without an oxygen mask and not facing a stomach injection tonight has me giddy with relief.:j

Sounds as if DH might be cooking tea downstairs but too cream crackered to interfere. Might surf web to look for pjs for DD (15) so they get delivered to house.

As a gesture to myself to remind me to rest I have splashed out on two nice soft pairs of pjs ( bruises on stomach) and a red snuggly dressing gown and refuse to feel guilty.

Bought healthy and wholesome food on way home from hospital - chicken, lean mince and steak (Tesco 3 for £10 offer), skimmed milk, wholemeal bread, low fat spread and cooking spray , mackeral and loads of fruit and veg so no one should starve lol!;)

Gentle hug to everybody.(especially Lame Wolf, just read your post).

Elona - sorry to hear you have been so ill, take it easy and give yourself plenty of recovery time. Well done to your OH:T

Back from my hosp appointment. Saw another different doctor so went through all history again. They then asked me why I had come and I said coz you sent for me:rolleyes: It seems there was no need for me to be sent for as I am on the "urgent" op list and will hear any day now:rolleyes: As this was referred to them as an urgent 2 week appointment back in June - I will not be holding my breath! Aw well I suppose I will hear soon enough!

Tea tonight is "fake" Nandos for a treat. Chicken in Piri Piri marinade, savoury rice, corn on the cob and a jacket pot for OH in addition. DD1 is coming for tea with DD2 (they work together - DD1 has left home, DD2 still lives with us) There is lots of chocolate birthday (OH yest) cake left - OH thanks everyone for his birthday wishes by the way, he was very touched when I showed him the thread yest.:D

Hope you all have good evenings all

    x

Edited to say - Nice to see you posting again Lamewolf!

  • Afternoon all

Well only half of my teens turned up today! But it was the 'good' half! This lot worked their socks off today. We were lucky with the weather til just after lunch, then it poured down and we got soaked :( The project has really come together now, just got a mornings worth of work left now for tomorrow and we are done! We finished early cos of the rain, by the time I got home after dropping them off it was 3pm, so nice early finish for me.

I've just had a shower and have hung up my damp clothes to dry, will need them again tomorrow so am praying they dry properly with me haing to use the tumble dryer.

I am meeting my friend for dinner tonight, only Pizza Hut, but I have a 50% off voucher and we haven't seen each other for awhile so should be nice.

My friend in New Zealand who I'm going to stay with this Christmas rung me last night to tell me that she got engaged the night before :) I was so pleased for her!! So I need to think of an engagement present as well as Christmas presents for them! I haven't started Christmas shopping yet - eeek!

    Have a lovely evening all

  • Oooh dear, not a terribly productive day as once my mum got sat on the soa she didn't leave until 4:25. And of course now, it's far too late for me to be worrying about anymore washing ;)

I've had a lovely, long old chat, which is something that I don't l make enough time for ordinarily so it was lovely.

While she was here the postman bought me a new sample from Boots to test; some body balm which smells like lemon mousse and MrS has texted me to say he gets a payrise from Monday as the rest of his team are deserting like rats from a sinking ship.

So, a lazy day but a positive one here at Sunflower Towers.

Diva - Glad you have heard from Tris, hope he feels better next time you hear from him x

Flutterby - thanks for telling me you froze banana bread successfully! mine has got sultanas soaked in rum in it. But it's disappearing quite fast so I don't think there'll be any need to freeze it after all :o Whereabouts in New Zealand does your friend live? I bet you can't wait to see her. DH and I are going to NZ in January for 7 weeks, just travelling around on our own. I can hardly wait to be there - not looking forward to the journey though  I wish someone had invented teleportation!

nic1lou2 - Hope you hear about your op very soon! Glad OH enjoyed his birthday.

AussieLass - Hope DGS isn't wearing Ninny out x

tired mum - So glad DS likes his new school :j

NPM - I hope your head feels better x
(((HUGS))) to Jayne and George, and to all who are ill or unhappy.

I was in the front garden this morning, cutting down the last of the Michaelmas daisies. I feel guilty as we kept on deadheading them as long as possible because they were attracting bees, but then when they needed cutting down neither of us was well enough, so they've seeded all over the place including in our neighbour's garden :o

DS has arranged for a friend to come in the fairly near future to give him a quote for replastering his bedroom walls, so he's finally started clearing out the junk from said bedroom. So I went in there with the Dyson earlier, and cleaned the newly-visible area of carpet :D The Dyson makes even more noise than it used to. DS had a look ages ago and it needed a new belt and a new clutch. He replaced the belt (which had been shredded by the clutch overheating) but we still have the old clutch, which DS managed to clean. So it does still work, just makes a dreadful din!

We were in Matalan the other day and got DS a new warm jacket, feeling very pleased as it was only £12. When he tried it on, though, the sleeves came halfway up to his elbows! So that will have to go back, likewise the sweatshirts he got his head and one arm into but then couldn't get the other arm in :p We got some from Cotton Traders instead.

Dinner tonight is HM spag bol from the freezer. That will be all the current batch of HM ready meals eaten, so time for some more cooking! Went to butcher's this morning and got 2 x 12oz mince (will be made up to !lb each with lentils) and some pork shoulder to make Delia's Pork with Olives

Hope everyone has a pleasant evening.

Elona, sorry to hear you've been so unwell, as for the caretaker, he's there for good.
I was told todaqy I needed to smile more, when I smiled I was told it looked insincere. I said you can force me to smile, nothing can make it look sincere!
    Have a good evening everyone.

    Evening everyone.
A late one from me. Was up early with kids, did school run and then been out the house all day as H was painting the lounge - no way he can do that by school pick up (for mindee) with kids and me under his feet. DS is incredibly clingy for his dad - ridiculously so  and it's getting to be a pain when H is painting. Goodness knows what I will do with them tomorrow. I don't want to decend upon my mum again as she's put up with us for 2 days solid as it is.

so very little OS going on due to being out the house all day. bought some Mr S Basics 1kg of toffees and sweets as I refuse to pay for the roses etc that are currently for sale. My dad tried to get the ones from Asda but had completely sold out  So these ones are just in a bag, no label telling you what they are so a bit of a suprise but at £2.99 for the 1KG I'll take that chance :rotfl:

I am sorry I have read all your posts but I am too tired to reply to them all :o (was up painting til 10pm last night and had terrible night sleep due to DD so am trying to catch up with emails and ebay purchases whilst it's relatively quiet here).

    Have a pleasant evenine :D
Hugs to those that need them xx

Ivyleaf - No problems. My friend is in Auckland. We are spending a few days there, then going to Rotuara, back to Auckland for xmas, then to Goat Island for 5 days for New year, and back to Auckland for 2 days then I'm flying back! A packed 3 weeks but should be fun :D I can't wait! I'm dreading the flight too. I change plans in Dubai, so at least it splits it up a bit. Have a 4hour wait on way out, then I have a day in Dubai on way back :D, I have free hotel and meals sorted!
