  • Thanks for that reply McFi5dhc

Yep, mine flashes too. The fact that it is in the loft (and at the far end to boot) means that daily reads are not really feasible - hence the purchase of the Efergy Meter.

Mine is an Iskra as well, different model number, but similar

It just adds up the cumulative units, so to find out what you have generated in a day, you would have to write down the figure the night before, and then 24 hours later, and take one from the other.

For instantaneous output, you can estimate by the timing of the flash of the red light (hope yours is the same) - 1 flash is 1/1000 of a unit, which at peak is just under 3 seconds for my 1.44kwp system. Of course, you would have to take two meter readings an hour apart to see what exactly it did do in that hour.

I have an EDF electronic supply meter - it is white and the size of a large post card. An LCD supplies the units used to date. I don't think it can go backwards:mad:
It too has a flashing red light and I have just checked it runs at 1000 imp. (impulses?) per kwh.
Is it an industry standard I wonder?

To anybody that may be interested, British Gas are about to launch the biggest "Rent a roof" campaign you can imagine.

Within the next 2 weeks or so I am led to believe. So get ready with your applications....

    Thanks CSAE...

While we are on the subject, I have about £1000 of clubcard vouchers, so 4 x 1000 = £4000 in deals. I was saving them for a watch but would like to work out a way to put it towards a solar pv system. Any advice appreciated.

Hi there, you wouldnt be able to use your tesco vouchers against the solar panels. you cant use any form of voucher against the panels.

    Hope this helps:)
  • Anyone heard of a company My Energy Station? I had made an enquiry with them and they contacted me yesterday. They have took my details and have said a technicain will be in contact with me in the next few days to discuss my free installation
  • Hi There,

I have a lovely South Facing roof and was wondering if there were any recommendations for a 'free solar panel' supplier in the Gloucestershire area?

    Many Thanks
Look atfer the Pennies and the ££££'s will care for themselves :money:
  • I installed the following:

    http://www.leiderdorpinstruments.nl/International%20web/Info%20displays/index.html

I get a continuous display or...

generation in kwH since systems installed.
CO2 saved in kg (not sure how accurate)
    current generation in watts.

If I want to know my total generation I have to look at the Fronius inverter. I did reset the L14 device as it max range in display is 0000-9999 which is no use to record the monthly generation for FITs input.
  • Had my panels fitted yesterday by ASG. The fitters arrived at about 08.30 and were finished before midday. All went very smoothly.
The panels were generating upto 1.8Kw at about 3pm yesterday, when the sun popped its head out. When it was dull they were generating about 0.4Kw. Through the day we normally use around 0.8Kw so not too bad.
    Time will tell I suppose.

Yay! Well done Lufc. Please keep us informed of how much you are generating/using.

    Thanks
