Internet explorer 7 very slow

Anyone else experiencing an extreme loss of browsing speed since installing IE7 beta 2? Before, I was using IE6 and that was considerably faster. Foolishly, in an attempt to rectify the problem I deleted a load of programs including IE6, so I cannot reinstall that.
Has anyone found ways to rectify this problem? I believe the IE7 version is not the final one and once that is available the whole thing will speed up, but I don't know when it will be available.
Thanks

I did a memory upgrade which has sorted out the slowness- this was planned before trying IE7 though, but it works

Because IE7 is still a Beta. You are not meant to replace IE6 with this version. It has been released so that people can try it out and possibly report any bugs they find with it. It's really not a good idea to be using IE7 as your main browser yet.
Have a look HERE to see how to download IE6 again.
Or even better. Try Firefox or Opera. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

The above is really bad advice and should not be followed.
No need to Download IE6 again just uninstall it, and IE6 wont install over the top of IE7 as IE7 is the newer version, so an uninstall would be needed anyway.
Uninstall IE7
Click “Start,” and then click “Control Panel.”
Click “Add or Remove Programs.”
Check “Show Updates” at the top of the dialog box. (If you are running Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview - March 20, or a newer version of IE7, this step is not necessary.)
Scroll down the list to “Windows XP – Software Updates,” select “Internet Explorer 7 Beta 2 Preview,” and then click "Change/Remove.0 -
Try Opera 9, it's still beta but very good.
If you reinstall IE6 (we all have a cross to bear) then download Avant, it runs on IE code but is much, much better.

I agree Opera is very good but I would opt for 8.5 stable http://www.opera.com/ the only thing I would also mention that although a very good suggestion to swap browsers I just see this as circumventing the issue, I mean I use IE and im fine with it (my age shows now) been using for years and never a problem, I just like the layout
Now wheres my pipe and slippers

Once again I would suggest that people use the latest full release version of a browser rather than beta versions. Beta versions may contain as yet unknown security flaws in. Yes I know full versions could have this as well, but more users over time would give more chance of these being found and patched.
Always better to use the latest full release for browsing, and install a Beta alongside to try it out.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Thanks to all who posted advice. I didn't know beta was a trial version, but managed to uninstall it, and IE6 automatically kicked in when I restarted. Chuffed about that.
Does anyone know how best to optimise computer settings, so that browsing etc is as fast as it possibly can be? Tiscali provided a useful link about this, but it was quite basic and avoids the advanced settings page on internet options. I know there must be a useful link that covers all this.

I have had the same problems, off to uninstall it !!!!!!!0

theowl, search for a program called "Dr. TCP". It lets you change various tcp/ip options. Make sure the MTU is set to 1458. Many non-UK websites will recommend different values.0

i think my version of IE7 is quite faster than IE6 - but there are other problems, such as the 'Back/Forward' buttons..... obviously, as its a Beta - I can't really complain, but is a little annoying.... will try a newer version soon, to see if it improves anything0
