Black Horse refused claim

My wife took a loan out in 2004 with Black Horse and at the time she was told by the guy on the phone that she had to take PPI because her application would not be accepted without having it.
Anyway about 2 years into the loan she tried to cancel the PPI but all that happened was she had to get a new loan that ended up only a couple of pounds cheaper a month.
Last year she tried to claim the money back but was told that the PPI was sold correctly and she could not go to the FOS because they weren't registered at that time.
I am looking for some advice on how to proceed with this as it really bugs her that she cant claim?
Many Thanks

Hi there
I note that you said last year your wife tried to reclaim on the PPI?
As they did not resolve in her favour, did your wife try writing back to ask if they reconsider, where they should provide the final decision.
There is normally a 6 month timescale for these complaints, in regards of the Financial service ombudsman (FOS) if your wife wanted to take her complaint to these, she should have done so by the 6 months of the final decision.
However, maybe give it another go by writing to them and ask them to reconsider now if a final decision have not been given.
If they write back or you do not hear say by 8 weeks, you can contact the FOS and ask if they would consider looking into the complaint, maybe you had some personal reasons for not continuing with this earlier.
Please keep us posted and ask for help when required.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi
I took out my policy with Black Horse in 2004 and they were not regulated then, however they refunded all PPI instalments plus 8% interest.
Try sending an email to paul.phillips @ltsbasset.co.uk director at Black Horse Ltd. Don’t give up, keep going its your money and your entitled to be refunded.
Good luck. :money:0 -

Hi
As you know, sometimes it's simply not enough to use the template letters which can result in getting fobbed off by the banks.
I can recommend a company who will deal with this for you on a no win no fee basis. They don't charge any up-front fees either like many other companies do. I'm not sure if I can post their details on here but I can't recommend them highly enough. They have just reclaimed £14,006 for one client!!!!!!
Please PM me if you want their details.
Regards

I'm unsure of the forum rules so not sure if I can put their details on the open forum.
I don't work for them. I work with a law firm who has worked on some cases for them.
Please PM me if you do want their details.0 -
Ferryscoob _ I am sure one of the many people who have been dealing with blackhorse will post up their advice for free without charging you anything - upfront or otherwise - personally I can highly recommend the good people of the MSE PPi forum0

I have just sent my SAR to Black Horse as I remember being sat in the office with my husband being told that we would not get the loan unless we took out the PPI. I think We have actually had 2 loans from them....so hopefully get something back.Look atfer the Pennies and the ££££'s will care for themselves :money:0
