Hi, any Nokia 5800 owners that can help me out? I am constantly getting messages saying not enough memory etc On C Memory on the Nokia 5800 - when I go to file manager and into the memory there isn't anything in the files apart from some music and a few pics, whats taking up this space? I dont really have many apps on the phone either, Ive only had it 1 week.
Yor help would be appreciated before I launch the phone off a high building!

it only has Storage memory: 128 MB so it might be full from a few mp3 files and pics - does it have memory status listed anywhere that will tell you how much you are using0

No, Dont understand really, there are only a few songs on my phone, and no pics etc apart from the ones already on it.0

Go to Ovi store and you can download a free memory status app which shows you how much space left in memory and micro SD card. Then you can see whether it is really memory problem or software error.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0

Memory Status app on Ovi will tell you the remaining space.
The phone memory usuable space is actually 86.1MB. So a standard OS installation will give about 53mb spare space, which is enough for between 6-15 MPs.
You should put everything on the MicroSD Card instead.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -

Whenever you install new apps, put them to memory card during install stage. It will ask you where to put.
For your music etc. you can manually move them to memory card via built in File Manager.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -

I contacted three about the problem, they reccommend a software update, Ive only had the phone 1 week!0 -
You can check firmware status by dialing *#0000# You can also update firmware over the air (FOTA) via WiFi connection.
But some newer firmwares are buggy! It can even make matter worse. Just post your problem in Nokia discussion forum in Nokia Europe's site. You can get more help there.Happiness is buying an item and then not checking its price after a month to discover it was reduced further.0 -
As above select your Memory card when installing new apps.
To transfer tot he MicroSD Card, install the Nokia PC Suite software on the pc and connect via the cable supplied with the phone. From here you should beable to see both the internal memory card and the extra 8gb memory card. Transfer your music to the 8gb one, and in future only put new content on the 8GB card.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.

Can I ask what apps you 5800 owners currently have on your phone, trying to get an idea of how many I should have? Also If i have anything decent as all mine appear to be pretty useless!0
