I used the KC breed selector for a dog for myself and despite putting in that I want a large breed it suggested a Miniature Pinscher for me!!! :rotfl:

What's rather strange though is that it was the only breed suggested!!!

after reading your post, I just tried it, and it said...

    "0 breeds found"

 maybe it means I should not have a dog:( - or just that I am destined to keep having monrels!?:rotfl:

I am going to try it again to see if I ticked all the right boxes...

ETA .. nope I have done it three times, altering a few answers as I go, and still it says "0 breeds found" - it's just as well I like mongrels I suppose!

Hmmm! You got me curious so I've just given it a go - and despite saying I wanted a "large, energetic, hairy breed to romp around in my large garden in the country" - it recommends 29 breeds (mostly toys) and all under approx 14" - including Chinese Crested (where's the hair??), Chiuhuahua, Min Pin, Pug and Yorkie :confused::confused:

At no point was the breed I've devoted the last 30 years to mentioned :o.
Perhaps they aren't for me after all :rotfl:.

Note to Kennel Club - that selector definately needs more work :D.

you have obviously made a dreadful mistake - trade them in for pugs (or chinese crested:eek:) immediately!

I think I must have done  - you don't know of a good rescue I could dump them all in do you (or will swap all 9 for a well bred Pug!) :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    I've been Money Tipped!
    lol....

its works for e...but I don't get either of my breeds up either.

when we first thought about getting a different type of dig it threw some things into the ring that would have suited us practically, but that I might never have thought of. However........I reverted t type..I just think like a sighthound...been brought up with them.
  • I have a Bichon Frise. He looks like a cross between a teddy bear and a sheep. Gorgeous dog with a lovable temprement.

Bichon's dont moult and have hypo-allergenic fur too. Very sturdy breed and small.

They dont need much exercise and are highly trainable. I have found mine to be very loyal too.

The only drawback is the fact that they do take a lot of grooming. I take mine to a groomers every couple of months and he needs brushing pretty much every day.

Lol my Bichon takes 20 mins a day grooming, and every 5 weeks to the groomer. They are the most loveable dogs you could wish for, I wouldnt swop.
