rebeccaJ - Thought you might like to know (if you haven't been yet) that they do have a couple of meat dishes on their menu as well and the one we went to last night definitely had a meat dish on the set menu, as well as a vegetarian dish. For myself I had Fish Soup, Fillet of Sea Trout, with new potatoes (shared these with a friend who ordered the vegetables (also shared), there was plenty for us both. A nice glass of chilled white wine, crusty bread & butter included in the price! Total for 4 including tip - £44.00 Fantastic deal and really good food. For anyone else who hasn't tried it, this promotion goes on until September, we will be going again!rebeccaj wrote:I'd be interested to know that as well, please. Going with a non fish eater and a vegetarian, it would help to know in advance that they could find something on the set menu to suit them

I'm not sure the one actually at Loch Fyne is a part of that chain, as it isn't included in the list of participating restaurants.0 -
Isn't this very similar to their lunch deal (although they say lunch runs to 6.30pm, which is early dinner for me). I'm sure we usually pay £8 for 2 courses or £10 for 3. Correct me if I'm wrong, this is in the Oxford branch.0

Yes, you are correct, but it is 2 courses for £10 (no desserts included) up to 6.30 or 7 pm. But if you include the glass of wine which as somebody has pointed out, is £3.30, you could say you are getting the 2-course deal for £6.70 per head. Tell me where you can go to a good quality Fish restaurant and eat for that sort of money!!
I & and members of the family think it is an excellent deal!"0844 COSTS YOU MORE"0 -

I had chicken liver terrine as a starter and the missus had some wild mushroom and onion soup. There was also Calamari.
For the main course, I had grilled sardines in a garlic and herb butter with a tomato and basil salad. The missus had red mullet fillets with green pesto and new potatoes. Also available was sea bream and grey mullet.
All rounded of with a nice glass of muscadet and all for a tenner each. Very nice, thanks to "theloft" for the original post.
FYI, the regular price for a set menu is £10 without wine. The offer gives you a standard set menu but throws in the wine for free. The glass of wine would normally cost £3.30 so that's how much you the offer is worth.
Sounds like they have sharpened up in the Norwich Loch Fyne. I took my wife there about 7 weeks ago for a pre theatre meal & it was cold and late! On that performance we had decided not to bother again...but maybe for £10:D0 -

The service was a bit slow but we were outside in glorious sunshine and we were in no hurry so it was fine.0 -
Spent the last weekend in Norwich, and the Lock Fyne Restaurant was great. £10 each gave us oytsters for starters, and main course of whole mackerel with salad, chips etc., plus a glass of wine. I offered the copy of the downloaded voucher, and they just told me to keep it for next time. Good value, enjoyed the meal. Cheers, Woodville.0
