Gardeners world

  • I think 3 of the 4 main presenters are great (Toby Joe & Alys), they are proactively ecofriendly, they all seem passionate and knowledgeable about gardening without being snobbish in their attitudes. After watching GW I always feel that everything is okay with the world :)

Toby Buckland is warm and practical with many clever ideas, Joe Swift is brilliant with design whilst Alys passes on many frugal and ethical gardening tips. The 3 of them I find them to be very motivational.

Carol loves her wildflowers but seems too condascending in her attitude. Some viewers have complained about there being too much DIY in the latest series of GW, but I think this area of gardening is crucial as its the foundations upon which your garden will be built.
  • I too think they missed a trick when Geoff Hamilton died, it should have been Bob Flowerdew who took over as presenter. He was the only other real gardener they had on the show. Haven't watched it for years - dh just used to say "it's that Alan Tithead on again" LOL!

I gave up on it right at the start. Too childish & yes, Blue Peterish.
I even missed the potting shed incident & took me ages to find out what actually happened. There was another thread on this!

I love Bob Flowerdew & Carol Klein - they're proper gardeners. I just don't think the new presenters cut it for me...........

I'm sick of GW and I used to be an addict it's such a shame to let it go to ruin.
I think they tried to grab onto the new wave of people gardening as a result of the credit crunch and so alienated their "old" viewers.
I think that Toby's ideas and garden designs are awful (if they are his ideas) they are so old fashioned and twee and that 30 min make or what ever is the stupidest idea ever.
Carol is great IMHO and Joe is good and genuinely enthusiastic i think I quite like Alys but her specs and hairstyles drive my OH insane (and not in a good way) Sarah (too posh to wash) Raven i can do without but Chris Beardshaw and even little Sven Wombwell (phwoarr) from This Morning would be good eye candy

Have a look at this blog - she has some hilarious things on there about GW ( don't lnow what you'd call them - spoofs? mock ups?)

Nodwah - Took me ages to find out. It involved children in a shed & tin cans if I remember rightly.
    I was all agog too.
