I've just bought my Dad a smoke hood for a family in Kenya from Practical Action https://www.practicalpresents.org.

My Dad gave up smoking (finally) recently and I liked this present idea because it's called a breath of fresh air. He never really wants or needs anything so at least he'll know something good is coming from him giving up smoking. I don't live nearby either, so at least it's something I can post.
  • I grow my dad some bedding plants. (geraniums, petunias and marigolds)

Costs me approx £6 (seeds - get them half price at end of season! and compost.) This gives him over 100 plants for his borders and tubs.

OK, so I need to plan this earlier on in the year, but as the flowers are ready in June, ready for Fathers Day, it just seems to make sense as Dad HATES paying for anything - he really loves a bargain! and they last for months, putting a cheery smile on his face every time he goes out into the garden.

My dad's a keen cyclist and I've found some original designs such as Marmite, A-Z and London Pride.

    Checkout http://www.foska.com

    They also do running vests.

I've ordered a Toolbox Hamper full of sweets and fudge for my Dad - He was always knocking about in the garage when I was growing up. I got it from

    https://www.thepinksugarmouse.com

I think it is £15, but it's just something different

My Dad is train crazy and lives in a 1930s house with cast iron fire places, so we have grouped together and ordered him a cast iron plaque of a steam train from https://www.heritageiniron.co.uk. It is something really different that will last forever and remind him of us. Better to get him something he would really like between us :j .

I received this by email. You can buy a bottle of The Famous Grouse Whisky for £14.99 and change the word "grouse" into something of your own, such as dad, son, john, james etc etc etc So the logo would be The Famous Dad. You can also put a message on the back of the bottle.

LINK HERE go to enter the site > shop > enter the shop > then find link

This is a really good website - ideas not just for Fathers day but for mothers day, christmas etc. Nice when you want something personal, but don't know what to do! Our school is going to fundraise for christmas and get the children to draw their pictures, and my little girl has just done some coasters for preschool with a hand print in time for fathers day.

Here's a suggestion that was also popular for Mum's Day. Post a picture, message and link on http://www.treeofnames.com

This is a non-profit site run by a 13 year old that is raising money both for a childrens hospital and education. As his Dad I'm a bit bias, so here is a message from Nicky........

"Hi, if you would like to add a picture, message for your Dad etc I will be happy to triple the space (but you need to say MSE). In other words for a £1 block you get 3 blocks etc...... Send you details, picture, message and any link to admin@treeofnames.com Pay via Paypal on site and your info will be on site in a few hours".

    Happy Fathers Day!
