Poundstretcher (now Instore) have some bits and pieces - mug and coaster set for 1.50, other mugs for 50p, beer glasses for £1, socks (hmph!! not sure I should tell you about those considering the OP comments!!), keyrings, etc. Nice cheap stuff that comes in handy with 3 kids who want to buy something each.

At school we run a Fathers day secret shop. The kids can bring in £2 to buy a gift. It is hard work for us to choose gifts which the kids will want to buy, we can wrap in time, and dont cost too much.....we even sometimes make a small profit to add to the pta funds! The kids LOVE it, because they get to be all grown up and go shopping for themselves. There are a few parents who wont joinin because they dont want to spend £2 (x the number of kids they have) on a bit of rubbish, but I let mine join in because it's worth £2 for the enjoyment the kids get in shopping, and presenting their own choice of gift.

Have you tried growing a plant, especially a sunflower. Nothing nicer than a seedling grown by your child that will last througout the summer.

my dad loves his dog more than anyone in the world so last fathers day I bought a plain t-shirt and then got a lovely photo of the dog printed on the front. Cost about £5 to get it printed and he apsolutely loved it.

This year I am getting him a book about how to read dog body language and cooking him and mum a nice dinner.

I think books can sometimes be a bit boring for a gift but.....
In various book shops you can buy 'quick reads' which are really good short books plenty of choice.
£2.99 each but in most librarys they have flyers with a £1 off voucher for this range.
The 'Srew it lets do it' Richard Bransan book is worth £1.99 and it may give dad's motivation to do something crazy (maybe not a good idea.ha)
There is also 'I love footbal' which my dad will def enjoy.

Yesterday the Co-op had packets of football shirt shaped cookies that you make yourself (the icing pens are included for doing your own design). I thought I'd have a baking day with my little darling, and he can make and decorate some biscuits for his Daddy. I think they were about £2.00 (sorry can't remember exactly), the cutter and all the ingredients are included.
Says will make 11 cookies, but I usually end up with about 4, the rest gets splattered over my kitchen walls !

If anyone is wanting to go down the Aftershave route I can reccommend the own brand range at Aldi (it's what I've bought for my Dad). They have 3 different versions plus a balm all for £1.99 a 100ml (?) bottle. They come in very stylish looking boxes and it smells pretty good for that price too!

This is a great website for that personal touch. Bought my BF a calendar for Christmas and everybody comments on it. They are doing special calendars for Father's Day that start in June.

If your dad lives in London and eats out regularly, get him a Taste Card. It gives 50% off at 400 restaurants, lasts for 12 months, and if you use the code DAD you'll get £20 off.

I've just received some gorgeous candles from Corfecandles.co.uk who make bespoke designs and also use soy wax (100% natural and environmentally friendly). They've got some terrific fragrances such as Coolwater and Drakkar Noir just right for Fathers' Day presents. You can choose a standard design or think up your own. Fantastic ideas as gifts, I know where I'll be shopping for Father's Day - I've got 3 presents to buy and they will all get something different to fragrance their homes.
