Hi Tamsin, kepin fingers crossed here your kitty is ok! Mine was in the vets a couple of months ago and wouldnt eat a drop or use the litter tray. She's 16 and nearly died when she was in there..... The vet brought her home to me and as soon as she got in the door, she went straight to her food dish! Then used the litter tray not long after. We mags has had a heart murmur which caused all her problems and Im not sure how long she has left but i know I am lucky she is still here. I feed her dry chicken (never did before) and she gobbles it up, sometimes eating a kilo in a week:eek: I still feed her the dry prescription food and find anything else that varies from this gives her the runs.

Fingers crossed Pete gets home and back to familiar, where hopefully he will be stuffing his face. xx I know how upsetting it all is.

  • yayy...been reading your thread and so glad to her your puss is on the mend :j

I think cats are tougher than we give them credit for, he will have used up a few of his lives now though, so you'll have to keep an eye on him! ;)

Keep updating us as to his progress...myself and our 2 have our fingers (and paws crossed) for him x
Metranil dreams of becoming a neon,
You don't even take him seriously,
How am I going to get to heaven?,
When I'm just balanced so precariously..
  • they've been reducing the food given via tube and giving him hunger meds, hes been eating small amounts throughout the day and appears much brighter today :D

he hasnt been to the toilet (either type) for a few days but as he did go since the accident theyre not worried about this too much as its prob due to his lack of eating etc

zippychick i cant believe how much your cat eats! although i do think girl cats are more greedy than boys lol

metranil vavin im pretty sure he may have 2 or 3 left if i forget a few of his 'adventures' so should last him another few years yet :) he may be confined to thw house and garden when he comes home, which im now pretty confident he will be!

fingers crossed he will be home soon! when should you find out?

She never ate this much until she took sick, honestly! Now she is a greedy wee mare!:rotfl:I have no chicken at the mo,and she is torturing me! Will get her some tomo, but for now her dry food will have to do.

Since she has came home, i do let her out but she rarely goes out beyond the back yard. She is quite happy sniffing about to see if any other cats have been in.

  • I am sure one of my cats as a kid was deeply into the red where her lives were concerned. Her whole face was wired together at 8 months old (she had a profile like a bulldog, teeth and all) and she spent the rest of her life partially sighted, falling out of trees, sleeping on open windowframes on the top floor, launching from the wardrobe to me in the dead of night, chasing dogs, catching pigeons and sleeping on next door's giant GSD's kennel roof! She finally went at 19.

Hope all goes well for you too.
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.
